What is a catholic church?

A catholic church is not only a place of worship but also a place in which the perfect and eternal sacrifice of Jesus is offered. Furthermore, in its tabernacle, Jesus, who is God, dwells. It is therefore the holy of holies, the house God and the earthly presence Heaven. Therefore, we must genuflect before the tabernacle upon entering the church, maintain silence in the church at all time and wear clothing that are respectful.

Dear Surrendersacrifice, the Catholic Church is a place where even true saints of God never realize they are saved; there remains always the threat of an un-confessed mortal sin forever damning them, or at the best time spent in purgatory for forgiven sins. By mercy and grace I was delivered from that system of religion. If indeed you are a Catholic, can you truthfully say you are saved and on your way to heaven; are there yet sacrifices to be made?

You mention that it is "A place in which the perfect and eternal sacrifice of Jesus is offered," but it is not treated as such; they offer it again and again but Jesus offered Him once for sin and the battle is over.

Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Hebrews 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

God bless you in Jesus' name.

Catholic with a lower case "c" means "universal." It is not the same as Roman Catholic.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. AMEN.

<dir>1Co 3:16

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1Co 3:17

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
1Co 3:18

Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

We all know how holy the "catholic church" is!:bigfrown

What you describe here is the body and heart of the believer.

We are not to defile the holy dwelling, the holy temple of God, with profane things like envy, jealousy, greed, hatred, lust, and pride--the false idols that pagans worship and depend on.
