A Judaizer is one that believes in Jesus, but also believes that you must keep the law of Moses. There were many Judaizers in the early church. There are many Judaizers on this Forum. Jesus was a teacher of the Mosiac law. What many do not understand is that the Mosiac law demands perfection or death, Galatians 3:10. Paul said, "By the law is the knowledge of sin" Romans 3:20. Jesus taught the law to show the Jews that they were sinners in need of a savior.
Jesus said, "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses seat" Matthew 23:2. Which is the law. If anyone was to be rewarded for trying to keep the law, it would have been the Pharisees. These champions of religion tithed right down to the mint in their gardens, Matthew 23:23. Did Jesus commend them for doing that? No, he condemned them for doing that. In the 23rd chapter of Matthew Jesus referred to them as hypocrites 7 times.
James said, "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all" James 2:10. There are about 2,000 laws in the Old Testament. The Jews took about 600 laws out of the Old Testament and called it the Torah. The Jews said that the Torah was the way, the truth and the life and was the light that enlightened every man. John took what the Jews said about the Torah and applied it to Jesus. John 14:6.
The Judaizers followed Paul everywhere that he went and persecuted him because he taught that the law had been abolished, 2 Corinthians 3:13. Paul said that a vail is upon their heart, but if they would turn to Christ the vail will be taken away, 2 Corinthians 3:16. The vail remover is Christ and his Gospel. In the Gospel, "Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes" Romans 10:4. Jesus is the end and the fulfillment of the law for all that believe the Gospel.
