What is a lie and what is interpretation?

1 John 1:6
If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.

1 John 1:10
If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

2 Peter 1:20

I guess the idea is that a lie is unfairly to read something into the text of Scripture that is not there. In other words, eisegesis instead of exegesis.

Not sure that BMS is addressing this, but I am SICK of people on here calling one another a liar. I have not encountered ANY poster here who has lied to me. This INCLUDES all those I have disagreed with.

Just because someone disagrees with me, or interprets a verse differently does NOT make them a liar. I dn't think ANYONE here intentionally lies about scripture, instead, a lot of you are just WRONG! But you are not liars.
