if the body dies and lose its awareness ... i consider that murder lol :)

does our body cross over to the afterlife ?

how does it work ????

its hard for me to locate what is true and what is not true.

maybe the soul does not exist?
maybe the death of the body is the end ?

Hardly a Christian Biblical perspective, is it? Your idea of murder is also a long ways off of the real meaning of the word!

I'm with OB on this. In the nation I live in there is a majority opinion that there is no God leaving life to be pointless that is the reason we see so many people stepping of tall bridges and putting slugs in their brains. On the other hand ere is a small group of people of whom I am one and we know God on a personal level and we have a World View that makes life worth living, even if all else fails.

These strange and different people are Christians and they "know" things that causes the majority of people to view us as "different." and we are different in that we use the measure of faith, God has given every man, to believe, to, literally, find the real value of our lives.

The soul has been long sought after, I remember that as a young soldier photos being taken and measurements of weight being taken at the moment of death. The trouble is God has demanded faith to gain eternal life and the default being eternal death.

God teaches us this is such an important matter that He has, through His Holy Word, given us His perspective on life and death to supersede our own. God has assured us we, every person on this Earth, are created in His Image. So... what is that image because though I once found the other poor man that looked exactly like me, as I look around there is not not very much, in the way of people that looks me.

It is my position that my Spirit is the portion that is like God and like God, my spirit is eternal and will exist for Eternity in life (Heaven) or death (Hell) and in that Spirit is where we locate the intangible Soul.

Praying this help you.

Here is what Jesus taught on the subject.

A real life example of two different individuals who lived on earth, and then died.

19 "There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day.
20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate,
21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.
23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.'
25 But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.
26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.'
27 Then he said, 'I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house,
28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.'
29 Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.'
30 And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.'
31 But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.' "
Luke 16:19-31

Jesus taught this story about these two men, in order to bring truth to the typical Jewish mindset that thought if a person was rich, then that meant they were blessed, and if poor, then they were cursed.

In response to the religious leaders who were deriding Him, came several responses which culminated in this story.

14 Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him...

does our body cross over to the afterlife ?
Ecc.12:6;7
.....then shall the dust return to the earth as it was, (body) and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

how does it work ????
As above

its hard for me to locate what is true and what is not true.

The Spirit is the intellect of your soul, self.

That is our hope, faith, eternal life.

You have received several well thought out and you, as evidenced in your post, appear to have an agenda that includes selling this point Satan pushes so hard to sell. If that is not the case, engage us in a conversation of examination but repeating this go nowhere, do nothing, line will neither serve you nor anyone else well. All you are accomplishing with this line is to give cause to wonder about you.

I don't get what you are saying nor understand what you are wondering about me, lol.

Do you disagree with Ecc. The body returns to dust?
Disagree with saying, the soul is self?
Strongs#5315 Hebrew, nephesh, meaning, breathing creature, breath, man, me, mind, person, one, own, self, yourself.

Disagree with , our hope, faith in Jesus Christ, is to give us eternal life?

As I said, I believe in my first post in this string, no one is going to die, we do not have that option! The Soul of man is eternal and the Soul is what we. God has given us a course to run in this world, He created for that purpose and it is here we will prove our worth.

But with the soul being the Image of God, it will never die. The carcass our souls are contained in, temporarily, will expire but when the Resurrection is completed we receive a new body, that like our Souls, is imperishable.

Sorry you disagree, but really don't want to go there.

The body is an earth suit. When you die it lays where ever it is until someone moves it.
how does it work ????
We all have a spirit man. When we become born again God places His spirit with in us.
This spirit man is also known as the flesh man in the word of God.
Galations 5:16 KJV
This I say then, "Walk in the spirit, (Gods Spirit He placed in YOU) and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh (spirit man we asre born with)

When you die if you are born again then your spirit will go into Heaven and it is said we will have new bodies but not like our human bodies we are born in. If you are not a born again Christian then you will (spirit man born with) will be seperated from God and be cast into hell. This is also known as the second death. Being seperated from God.

its hard for me to locate what is true and what is not true.
No it should not be. Gods word is quite clear on this.

maybe the soul does not exist?
LOL it exist.....The soul simply is your MIND-WILL-EMOTIONS
maybe the death of the body is the end ?
The death of the body is the end for that body.....and the next stage for our spirits.....
I hope this helps out
Blessings

Gen 2:7 tells us what a soul is.

7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Gen 2:7 KJV)

The word soul is also used abstractly as life. It is translated this way a good bit in the Scriptures.

30 Now therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad's life; (Gen 44:30 KJV)

Isn't that reincarnation?

No Butch, it is scriptural and as close as the mechanics sound to the pagan belief it is totally different in truth. Neither I, you, nor any other will be different people because the old man comes out of the grave and or, as in my case, the body will be resurrected and all the pieces doctors have discarded will be resurrected as part of that body and before we enter the 12 gates our bodies will be glorified. Same person but perfected.

If you google glorified body you will find a numberr of good studies on the matter or better yet look it up in the Nave's Topical.

Diane, I think there is confusion because when you posted the first time you repeated the questions by the OP poster so that they looked like your words. I think Bill thought you were the same poster repeating yourself.
Do you know how to use the multi-quote function, it's really cool? I'm going to assume you don't, please excuse my rambling if you do. You can hi light a portion of someone's post and a little blackish box comes up and choose the
"+Quote", you can do this several individual times. Then go to this posting box, that I am typing in, and at the bottom on the left hand side it will say "insert quotes". It will give you a chance to remove any that you don't still want.
It will look like this in your posting box....
.then shall the dust return to the earth as it was, (body) and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
And you can respond/reply easily between each quote, very handy.

Diane,
Deb is right and being old I have so many things to blame it on but I'm going with being an old dummy and I pray for forgiveness.

Ok, I was going by your what was in you post.

"But with the soul being the Image of God, it will never die. The carcass our souls are contained in, temporarily, will expire but when the Resurrection is completed we receive a new body, that like our Souls, is imperishable."

Typically we understand the word "New" to mean a different one. That's why I asked the question.

Thanks Deborah
You are right, I know how to do it on my computer, but this tablet has a mind of its on sometimes. It doesn't want to highlight very well.
Sorry for the confusion.

1Cor.15:53,54
For this corruptible (flesh) must put on incorruption (spirit), and this mortal (liable to die soul) must put on immortality. (Deathlessness)
1Cor.15:40
There are also celestial (heavenly) bodies, and bodies terrestrial ( earthly), but the glory of celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
