What is an Arminian written by John Wesley

I agree with it.

that nearly fits my position, and i agree with that last part that calvinist and armanists ought not speak evil of each other.

Can I ask which of his 5 points the Pentecostal faith does not agree with? I personally agreed with all 5 points but many of my Baptist brethren are going to disagree with point #5.
5) They affirm a believer can fall from grace

all five. my particular church doesnt hold to the idea of eternal security(common amongst pentacostals).

wow, i didnt think i was that much armianists(i think that the baptist is cornfused as if you take the cavinist postion on #5, its inconstent).i had this converstation today.

We'll see what the Baptists have to say in this thread. I think most will either agree with the Calvinistic view of predestination and it is impossible to fall from grace. Or those who believe in free will- will believe in OSAS. I don't think there will be many Baptists who agree you can fall from grace. Does that mean I'm not a Baptist?:confused

Baptist here, we agree with the arminian position up to eternal security. We see that the nature of our relationship with God changes at salvation, and that he keeps us and preserves us from that point forward. Sealed to that day of redemption.

Good article Hitch. Thanks, I always enjoy Sproul's work.

Glad you liked it.

I think the conversation about the 'friend' was a fine illustration.

Just as an afterthought to Hitch's article. Has anyone read "Free Will and Salvation"? This book has Erasmus' "Freedom of the Will" and then Luther's answer "Bondage of the Will" in the same book. I've read Luther's work but it would shed a lot of light on it to read Erasmus' work first and then Luthers' work. Anybody read this book?
