What is Lent?

I'm not too familiar with lent. What do you have to do? It sounds very interesting :D

It's the 40 days before Easter. I'm not sure how it works in Protestant circles (I'm catholic- and I hope I'm not going to get in trouble with the Mods for this, but I can only exaplin it as far as I know it  ), but for Catholics it typically involves abstaining from meat on fridays and fasting on Good Friday (the firday before Easter) and Ash WEdnesday (40 days before).

Over the course of those 40 days, you give up something- say, chocolate. So during Lent I would not eat chocolate except on Sunday (considered an "off-day" typically).

Does that help at all? :)

Hey it's my old friend Laudate Dominum how are ya? You know I'm protestant, and I can only speak for my particular church. We do every thing that you as a Catholic do except for the meat on Fridays thing. Hope that helps.
