Let's first look at the scale of the universe.. I'll be using scientific e notation (with the real number in brackets)
Compared to a human the earth is massive. It's 3.5e9 times larger than a human. (3,500,000,000)
Our solar system is 3.6e10 larger than earth. (36,000,000,000)
But then there is our galaxy, the Milky way. It dwarfs our solar system by a factor of 4.12e24. (4,120,000,000,000,000,000,000,000)
And while our sun is the closest star to earth there are another 4e11 of them in our galaxy. (400,000,000,000)
For the known universe however there are 2e12 other galaxies. (2,000,000,000,000)
Each of those galaxies has an estimated average of 3e11 stars. (300,000,000,000)
That means the observable universe has about 6e22 stars. (600,000,000,000,000,000,000,000)
In terms of size the Milky Way has a diameter of 200,000 light years.
Sounds small? Well 1 lightyear is 9.461e12 km's. (9,461,000,000,000 km's)
The universe however is a staggering 9.3e10 light years in diameter (93,000,000,000).
And that is only the "observable" universe, the "known" universe.
God only knows how big it truly is.
When working with these kind of numbers it's impossible to get a true understanding of it's scale
This short video helps us with that
So I wonder about all that empty space and matter. What is the purpose of it all.
It seems we only really need the earth, sun and moon to survive. Why then would God bother with all this space?
An analogy would be building countless high rise offices to only use one single office.
It makes no sense. The universe make no sense
Could the universe be so complicated that it requires all that space, matter, forces, energy, gravity, etc to be all in sync, in harmony?
Remove a star and the universe explodes. Or remove a different star and the universe implodes.
What do u guys think?
Why did God build the universe?
What is it's purpose?
