Outside of the Bible, what is the second-best Christian book you have ever read?

We don't want a book report, so keep it short, but WHY?

The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis

Outside of gaining an insight into how the enemy works, I also gained a huge perspective of how God loves us.

"Prayer, Asking and Receiving," by John R. Rice.

I was surprised to learn that God wants to answer our prayers, and He even tells us how to get answers.

I can't make up my mind, but likely Pilgrim's Progress. All of these books impacted my life as a pre-teen, and so they may have been timely. I like Dora's pick 'Screwtape Letters' as well, and also 'The Problem of Pain' by Lewis

Pilgrim's Progress - John Bunyan
The Chronicles of Mansoul -An adaption of Holy War (John Bunyan) by Ethel Barret
By Searching - Isobel Kuhn

Charles Spurgeon, the great preacher of the nineteenth century, read Pilgrim's Progress over 100 times.

I'm not sure that you would consider it a book but I like the daily devotions in My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers. I've read it for years.
