What is your Responsibility?

God calls us to obey Him not because He’s a demanding tyrant but because He loves His children and knows what is best for us. What is your responsibility and duty in such a situation?

Our responsibility is to be the best people we can be based on the best information we have at the time. As we live our lives, we learn things and, hopefully, we are smart enough to not keep making the same mistakes again and again.

Once we actually get it that love is better than hate, kindness is better than anger, forgiveness is better than vengeance and so on, we have made our decisions to conduct ourselves in a certain manner, to live our lives a certain way.

Whether we do that or not is another matter. As we go through life, many of us "fall off the wagon," but, fortunately, there are tools available to us that allow us to move on from our mistakes and errors in judgement. One of these tools is forgiveness, and the first person we have to be willing to forgive is ourselves. In fact, I am not certain that it is possible to love or forgive others any more than we are willing to love and forgive ourselves.

When we act with love, compassion, forgiveness, gratitude, kindness and other positive behavior, we are serving both God and ourselves.
