What Kind of Food Do You Hate?

I just thought of this topic when I was talking to somebody on another website about artichokes and dragon fruit and I only have to look at them to know that they completely gross me out! I also know for a fact (after trying them) that I hate green beans and onions as well as many other vegetables. Yeah, I'm pretty much a meat and potatoes type of gal! :biggrin2 Btw, this is what dragon fruit looks like for those who don't already know.

Dragon fruit looks so amazing, but I can't say I have tried it. I like jack fruit, though.

I like so many foods...let's see...anything overly spicy I don't care for like jalapeños. No plans ever to do a ghost pepper challenge lol. I do not like cottage cheese, either.

Dragonfruit has a pleasant mild taste. Now let's talk about durians...

I LOVE cottage cheese but I can't stand any kind of pepper. :nonono

Dragonfruit has a very mild taste. Now let's talk about durians...

Huh?? What are those?? :confused2 (Durians.)

Durians are a fruit popular in SE Asia (for the life of me I don't know why). The actual taste is mild, but you first have to get through the SMELL. I would describe it as "sweetened sewage water". Indeed, the fruit is banned from some nicer hotels and public transportation.

You might be able to check them out at an Asian supermarket. If curious.

I have heard they smell bad, but have never tasted or smelled them lol. I have seen some huge durians at the super market, though!

Well, at least I am not the only one that doesn't care for spicy. I remember being around people that had lived in Mexico and Brazil. They always called me "blandito" because apparfently I don't know what flavor is -sigh-.

The only Mexican food that I eat are tacos and I only have them with meat and cheese. :) Btw, what is jack fruit? :confused

But even worse than durians, there is the only sushi I will not touch. Uni, or "sea urchin." Actually the raw gonads of sea urchin. Need I say more? They taste as bad as they sound.

Yeah, sushi is pretty much the only kind of fish that I won't eat. :nonono Oh yeah and I can't stand baked shrimp but funnily enough I will eat breaded. I've never tried lobster though.

Brussel sprouts...but I do love cabbage so i think that's weird...

I won't eat either. :nonono

Yeah, there is ot much food that I do not like. Especially Polish food and Mexican food!

My problem here in Ohio is finding decent hot sauce and salsa. Medium and mild is everywhere but the Hot stuff is like searching for some rare commodity or something.

The only thing that my (ex) Polish family ever cooked that I did not like, was...tripe (Yuk!), and some sort of blood soup...(Double Ugh!) I tasted it to be polite but didn't get past 2 spoonfuls....bleh!

Besides scripture says do not eat the blood of animals.

The biggest question is that unless you are competing to be a contestant on Fear Factor, who would want to? There's not a lot of meat that I won't eat but blood? :eek No thank you! Just because I was a vampire one year for Halloween doesn't mean that I actually want to be one for real. :lol

Jack fruit looks like a durian. The fruit of it is like a yellow-orange color. It reminds me of a yellow Starburst. Some people cook it up, but I like it raw.

After looking at KevinK's picture, a durian actually looks quite appetizing. It reminds me of a pineapple and I really like them. :biggrin

Haha. Yes, a knife is useful. Reminds me when my husbsnd taught me how to open a coconut, but he used a screw driver and a hammer lol. This wouldn't make a pretty pineapple, though xD

Well I guess that if karate was taught by putting wax on and off a car than anything is possible LOL!!! XDD!! (Unfortunately I can't post that clip because it has a swear word in it. :/) Anyways, getting back on topic when it comes to meat the only thing that I haven't tried and have refused to try to this day is tongue. :eek I can blame Beverly Cleary for that though. :lol Anyways, ironically it is lunchtime right now so must dash lol! :biggrin2
