My husband and I were talking earlier about things now days. We talked about how if you don't like something about your body, you can go to a plastic surgeon and change it. The biggest thing that I don't like is gender reassignment. I think homosexuality is a choice and these people believe that it's easier to blame God for "allowing" them to be born that way than for them to realize that this is the lifestyle they CHOOSE to live. They'd rather lay the blame than say, "I'm homosexual." I don't like how if people don't like their nose or their breasts or their whatever, they just pay someone to change it for them. What kind of world is this place becoming? What do you think?

**I do understand that plastic surgeons are there to help people also. I knew a girl who got attacked by a dog as a toddler and had to have her nose reattached. There are lots of cases where plastic surgeons help people rebuild their lives after tragedy. I'm not taking a shot at any doctor.**

Unless it's reconstructive surgery, the biggest problem I have with plastic surgeries is that they pander to our vanity. The more we feed our vanity, (and $1000's of dollars paid towards unnecessary surgery is a lot of feeding), the more vain we will become which would certainly interfere with our walk with God.

As most around here know, I'm big into Christian liberty. However, as Paul said, although something might be lawful, it might not be profitable. Chasing an elusive form of physical beauty most likely isn't going to store us treasures in heaven. If a sister or brother really wanted a nose job, or boob job, or nip and tuck, I'm not going to say "Don't do it." But, I doubt if I would do it myself.

As far as gender reassignment goes, it's only superficial as the "man" who got pregnant proved.

Bingo, Heather, you hit on exactly how I feel about this subject. Plastic surgeons and dermatologists who do such procedures for health reasons are doing a valuable service. Most other cosmetic surgeries do tend to our vanity and the pressure the "world" puts on us. My esteem is from Above.

I say let these people do whatever they want. It's a risk every time they go under the knife. This lady had botox put in her face soo many times and now look what it has done. If people didn't know, botox is paralyzer. It blocks neurotransmitters from getting to the synapses in the neurons decreasing muscle activity.

Check out this picture of this former Hollywood celebrity that had too much botox.

But, what of the ungodliness of it? Especially gender reassignment.

They've been taught to love and embrace their bondage and sin. Even a lot the churches are telling homosexuals that God made them that way.
The root of the sin and depravation out there is an apostate church that has been influenced by the world and culture, instead of visa versa. Bad is being called good... and good is being called bad.
Bland salt.
