Bible Study What proves the Bible to you?

Nice simple question that I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on. What is it that proves to you that the Bible is the word of God? And what is it that makes you know that the various other holy books are not inspired?
(or do you believe that there are other inspired works?)

I really couldn't describe it. Just reading it, I mean, no way a man could have made up a clever plan or put together a story in that much depth and detail.

At least not for me, anyways.

Was saved before I had any inclination to read it. Couldn't put it down.

My life has been forever changed because of a personal relationship with Jesus and the Bible is His Word and the only reliable source of His life and teachings.

Good Questions.

First, I believe that there are other inspired works... Such as the Union that the Lord has blessed my wife and I with.

Of course, your speaking of inspired writing as well... so yes, I believe that there are other inspired writings... I have written my wife many spririt filled, spirit led writings.
I see little differences in the union that God has granted between my wife and I, and Jesus and His Church; So when a saint writes his confessions, I sometimes see the light / truth in his words and I see Christ manifest in his life through the writings left behind.

As far as proving the Bible as God's word, there is nothing that needs to be proved to me, but rather I must submit and through that submission, grace abounds and His Holy written words becomes a light in the darkness that through faith, the Holy Spirit becomes the guide.

I pretty much took God at His Word 35+ years ago. I was kin to the 'sons of thunder' if you know what that means? (But had good seed sown) Quite a story, but I will not attempt to bore anyone.

The thing that I see that still is a wonderment to me, is the change that comes about. I did not need to look at others, I could look at my past & in amazement not understand what made the change, except for the Word's of my 'new' Master.

After that decision, most study was promptly believed. Matthew 28:20.
