What most men want are two things both in there way difficult.

1/ they want the respect of there wife.
Think about it, do you belittle him, ignore or laugh at his opinions, views etc.
Is he the person who's views are important to you?
If you cannot respect the boy your dating don't marry him.

2/ men and women are very different, women want to be told they are loved, words mean a lot, while for men actions speak louder than words.
How does a man know his wife love him? She is willing to have sex with him.

Shame that so many women do not understand this about their husbands.

How does a man know his wife love him? She is willing to have sex with him.

To a lot of men I've known, including myself, several other things make up a good marriage too.
Great companionship.
Being told you're loved.
BEING APPRECIATED.
The other person is easy to love and receptive to being held and loved on.
Cuddling at night in front of the TV.
Doing projects together and enjoying that time.
Being silly and joking with each other.
Going on vacations and enjoying the other person.
Having romantic dates.
Talking at night about the day after work.
Missing the other person if you've been away from each other, and calling to say I love you and miss you.
Little gifts once in a while to say I love you.
Thinking of the other person during the day with warm feelings.
Maybe a phone call during the day.
Saying good morning with a kiss.
Holding hands when out together until your at least 99.
ALWAYS opening doors (My mother taught me this one, to be a gentleman-YES, even with your wife).
Doing meals together and dancing together while cooking a meal - (WARNING: This can lead to postponement of dinner while things heat up from the closeness ?).

There's more but you get the idea.

If your friends as well as lovers, life can be a joy with your loved one.
It takes work to make your wife happy, and to me, it should take work and sometimes planning, because she is worth it, and for me at least it's fun to feel like a hero in her eyes once in a while.
