This is a question we should ask in our daily lives!

When someone swears at me, before my natural response would be to give that man a piece of my mind, i am starting to ask myself through every trial, what would Jesus do?

I know what Jesus would do, he would pray for him and bless him!

When i worry about paying the rent_ what would Jesus do? for One He would not worry!

If someone came into our church high on drugs, what would Jesus do?

Would he reject him or would He Help him?

It is so easy for us humans to judge, worry, be insecure, be irritated and fight!

We have the perfect person to look up to! Jesus! In order to change i like to look to Him, He is my perfect role model, Him before all others.

I look to him for righteousness, Not the pastor
I look to him for righteousness, NOt other Christians
I look to Him for counceling, not councelars

Yes all those people can help, but asking for God's guidance should come first because i believe

that people are only human
people can give you the wrong advice, carnal advice and not spritual guidance! As you can see by this forum, so many good people (christians) have so many different views and opinions, Do not put your trust in man, but put all your trust in God!

He is above all powers! and above all the ways of Man!
just think twice before you get upset:

What would Jesus Do?

What Would Jesus Do

Dee_wwjd,

I think you are 100% right on this and we all tend to forget to ask what would Jesus do, includeing myself. I know no one is perfect it tells us that in the Bible , but I think it's a good idea to try harder and do what Jesus would do. You may have slips now again but all need to keep it in mind to ask ourselves what would Jesus do.

May God bless and keep you in all things.

Usually when we seek advice when problems arise we look to those who have had the same problems and learned from them. Jesus can take no such credit.

When someone swears at me, before my natural response would be to give that man a piece of my mind, i am starting to ask myself through every trial, what would Jesus do?
Well lets see:Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. Somehow Jesus doesn't sound very forgiving here.

-Matthew 23:14 (KJV)

Ye fools and blind:... Doesn't sound like Jesus is walking away on this one either.

When i worry about paying the rent_ what would Jesus do? for One He would not worry! Of course not he lived on the donations of others. Do you really expect everyones bills to be paid without getting a job?If people took the advice of Jesus, it would guarantee a miserable life of uneducation, poverty, persecution and poor heath. Would anyone dare teach their children such conduct?

If someone came into our church high on drugs, what would Jesus do?

I think he would call the authorities. He didn't come to destroy the law and render unto Caesar etc.

Would he reject him or would He Help him?

Why is that? Really what did Jesus do in his life that has any commonality with yours? He never married, never had sex, didn't raise a family, didn't hold a job, never got sick, never wrote a book, never admired the arts, spoke not one word of education, or science. He never advised how to prevent illness. He only lived to around 33 years of age and died a horrible death. What is it in his life story that you can gain inspiration?

How can this possibly be since "so many good people" are communicating with the same God as you?

He is above all powers! and above all the ways of Man!

We really don't know. He was never in any of these situations. Anything you may attribute to his possible reaction is purly fictional on your part. Here are some not so flattering quotes of Jesus:

And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

-Luke 12:47 (KJV)
But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

-Luke 19:27 (KJV)

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

-Matthew: 5:17-18
Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip; and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

-Luke 22:36 (KJV)

Jesus appears rude to his mother when he says:

Woman, what have I do to with thee?

-John 2:4 (KJV)

What did Jesus do when he entered the Temple with His disciples?

If that's what He did when faced with such religious wickedness would you when faced with the same?

What Would Jesus Do?

What DID Jesus do, and would He do it again ----- would He still be doing it? Jesus doesn't change (Hebrews 13:8).

would Jesus keep Sabbath or Sunday ?

Jesus lives in us all. Would Jesus -- in us -- keep the Sabbath Day ?

What Would -- What Did Jesus Do?

  • John 12:49 "For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself
who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak
    ."
50 "I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak,
I speak just as the Father has told Me."

John 8:29 "And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone,
for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him."

Matthew 26:39 "My Father, ... let this cup pass from Me; yet
not as I will, but as You will."
Jesus did the will of the FATHER, on a daily, moment-by-moment basis
Now He is our example, our leader our teacher

  • Isaiah 30:20 Although the Lord has given you bread of privation and
water of oppression, He, your Teacher will no longer hide Himself,
but your eyes will behold your Teacher.
21 Your ears will hear a word behind you, " This is the way, walk in it,
"whenever you turn to the right or to the left
    .

2 Corinthians 10:3 "For though we walk in the flesh,
we do not war according to the flesh
    ,"
5 "We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing
raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are
taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ

What DID Jesus do, and would He do it again ----- would He still be doing it? Jesus doesn't change (Hebrews 13:8).

would Jesus keep Sabbath or Sunday ?

would Jesus be keeping "the holidays of the Bible", like He always did ?

Afterall, He lived a life approved by His Father -- "You are my beloved son; in you I am well pleased" (Lk 3:22).

Some Christian sects say Jesus broke the Sabbath Day, thus doing away with the Sabbath.

When Jesus was called into account for doing certain things on the Sabbath, it was not for violating specified Old Testament prohibitions, but for disavowal of non-inspired, traditional regulations written by men concerning the Sabbath. The Old Testament did not forbid one to pick ears of grain on the Sabbath to eat on the spot. Yet when Jesus and His disciples did this He was called to account. The reason? Because the religious leaders had classified picking ears as "reaping" and rubbing loose the grain as "threshing."

The incident of the disciples plucking grain to eat in the fields (Mt. 12:1-8; Mk. 2:23-28; Lk. 6:1-5) was specifically permitted in the Old Testament (Deut. 23:25).

They were accused only of Sabbath-breaking. Jesus did not defend their actions on the grounds that the Sabbath was done away. Rather, He used relevant analogies: David and the showbread (KJ.Vâ€â€"bread of the Presence," RSV) and the priests in the temple.

It was only after He had shown that the actions of the disciples were not a true violation of the Sabbath that He asserted, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath: therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath" (Mk. 2:27-28).

By this means He showed not that the Sabbath was done away but rather the correct spirit in which to keep the Sabbath. Jesus was clearly a Sabbath-keeper, not a Sabbath-breaker.
