What's your Internet privacy worth? $25? (Google Screenwise Select)

Got an add in the mail with $5 in one dollar bills enclosed to bribe me, er, I mean take part in Google's "Screenwise Select" program. For something like $25 a month they hook you up to one of their additional routers and require all your computers to use Google chrome. There's also a gizmo attached to each TV that you tap every time you turn on or off the TV so that they can monitor what programs you watched. All in the name of "marketing" and "serving you better".

I'll bet dollars to donuts that if someone was abysmally foolish enough to sell their privacy for a mere $25 a month, that "somehow" this information will end up with the government. Then one day when dragged into court over some alleged plotting or whatever other paranoia the government has, the question will be asked to Google, "Why do they have this information? I thought it was kept confidential?" Of course Google will quickly dismiss themselves from such a lawsuit by playing the victim claiming the government "subpoenaed" the evidence and "came in with a search warrant" and apologize that it was "beyond our control". Yeah, right. If I can foresee that, so can they. I wonder who in the government they are sleeping in bed with to set up the American people this way? Incredible.
