This was in my church's program last Sunday and wanted to share it because I see so many folks on other forums claiming that "My experience is the people who are always bible thumping and and so forth are the most hypocritical ones. I'm more suspicious of them than non-Christians."
Sadly I have somewhat of a similar belief. My wife is into horse breeding and out of all the folk she's done business with the few people who have ripped her off (read: flat out lied to her about why she couldn't get a horse she bought from them registered, or paying for services that were never done, etc.) were the ones that wanted to make sure she knew they were Christians, the ones that have crosses all over their business logos, and the ones that are trying to give her CDs of their preacher's sermons, etc.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I'm suspicious of Christians, I'm just pissed when crooked businessmen try to use their supposed faith like an endorsement of their character.
Anyway, when I saw this I wanted to share it both as a reminder to fellow Christians; and as a sort of warning about how to discern Christians from con artists for, those who maybe have a bad taste for religious folk because of prior experiences.

When I Say That I Am A Chrstian...
When I say that I am a Christian, I am not shouting my personal superiority, but rather I am glad to share with anyone that I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven according to God's mercy.
When I say that I am a Christian, I don't speak of this with pride. I honestly admit that I stumble and I need Christ to always be my Guide.
When I say that I am a Christian, I'm not claiming to be strong; I'm confessing that I am very weak and need His daily strength and power to carry on. Without Him I can do nothing.
When I say that I am a Christian, I'm not bragging of success because whenever I try I fail but whenever I trust, He succeeds! When I say that I am a Christian, I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are evident and visibl to many, and I am far from perfect, but my trust is in a perfect Saviour who cares for me.
When I say that I am a Christian, I' not setting forth a "holier than thou" attitude. I'm just a simple sinner who has received God's grace and His free gift of salvation. And the God who did that for me is eager and willing and ready to do the same for you!" -GZ
