Where are the "Atheist" charities?

It occurred to me recently that in a search in the internet search engines "Atheist" charities are either well hidden or non existent for some reason.

What I am not talking about here is secular humanist charities or Atheists claiming any non religious charity is an Atheist one or like for example Bill gates foundation. Is not an Atheist charity it is a charity from Bill Gates who is one.

Why I am asking this if I search for other religions Buddhist, Taoism, Hindu, Catholic, Mormon, Jehovah's witness, as wel as Christian there is lots.

When I discuss God with some people They often claim they are an "Atheist" not a secular humanist or some other variant. I wonder why there is no or a tiny amount of "Atheist Charities".

because "atheism" isn't a religion just as "Theism" isn't a religion. It describes an entire group of philosophies where there is no god those philosophies as a group don't necessarily share anything in common.

in the same way Christianity and ancient Egyptian religion don't share anything really.

Atheism has been declared a religion! According to an article by Allie Martin for AgapePress, dated August 24, 2005, the Seventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals sided with a Wisconsin prison inmate and ruled that Wisconsin prison offials were mistaken when they did not recognize atheism as a religion. The court stated that atheism was the inmate's religion and that the group he wished to start "was religious in nature even though it expressly rejects a belief in a supreme being."

I found this at http://www.gopusa.com/2005/august/0824_atheism_religionp.shtml.

Now, I say that if atheism is a religion, why can't we protest against it the way they do Christainity?

Communist atheism was spread throughout Russia, China, and 1/3 of the world by super rich globalist dynasties, who do not believe in God, because they believe THEY are Gold.

Most people don't know what 'dialectic materialism' is, but it is the basic view of the universe, formulated by these people. It's just basically that humans evolved from amoeba and are basically just chemicals, matter, that whether your happy or sad, is just a matter of chemicals in your brain, love can be synthesized by eating chocolate, or an injection, etc, etc. Everynight on your nightly news, your high priests of Dialectic Materialism give you your sermon, about rats loving their mother, because of an ooze in their brains, and humans are the same way.

These families are taught that they are god, because they issue our currency,a nd THEY control and own everything, not God, and they are kind of right.

Many people seek religion because they want power, or to feel powerful, on God's side, but money is REAL, ACTUAL POWER. People will do ANYTHING for your money. So, these families know this from experience, because they pay millions of people who do ANYTHING for them.

Rabbi Moses Hess was the mentor of Karl Marx and zionist founder Theodore Herzl, his basic philosophy was that money is God.

I am not trying to villify these people, because they sincerely posit their thoughts in a sincere, intellectually honest manner, in their original writings, they of course, publish mostly propoganda in the mainstream media, for the masses, to accomplish their maniacal goals of world domination through controlling a world central bank.

It's odd to note that while capitalism does promote wealth across a given state's population, it also promotes income disparity, making the poorest demographic poorer than an equivalent communist state's poorest demographic. For example, welfare recipients with poor health living in the United States are in more dire straits than their Cuban counterparts today. (Keep in mind, I'm all for Capitalism for the moment)

It's also worth noting that while I'm certain few ''atheist'' charities exist, an overwhelming majority of charities, notably the ones with the ''lowest operating costs relative to donations'', i.e. profit margins, are all described as ''secular'' charities meaning they have no regard for religious affiliation.

Most interesting though, is the fact that in the religious category, there exist so many Christian charity funds, their closest counterparts being Jewish and Islamic charities.

(in terms of wage percentages, Muslims are the most heavily reliant upon charity)

Doesn't this suggest that Islamic, Christian and Jewish charities are the most ''selective'' of the bunch? The most likely to donate as an incentive, or upon certain conditions being met?

Food for thought!
Peace be with you,
Simon :thumbsup

This confuses me then, how we as Christians are the problem in the world when we care about the people in it the most. I get into discussions all the time with atheists on youtube (the best spot to find Christian music videos, and people seeking God or trying to bash our religion, I love talking with those seeking God.) all they say is that God isn't real or Christians are ruining the world, I really try my best to explain God or our religion to them, but they always come up with something that either makes no sense or I can't think of anything to counter their post.

Try looking up secular charities, champion.

A few: Amnesty International; Doctors without Borders; most if not all organisations in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

I highly doubt there is such a thing as a humanitarian atheist charity. As we said above, an overwhelming majority is secular, some multifaith I presume. Honestly, I think the catholic church is gently drifting away from ''christian charities'', on the basis that it's not Christian to impose a theological framework on acts of charity (anymore).

On the other hand, there are countless funds for interest groups and government lobbies pushing agendas that concord with christian beliefs. I'd probably get depressed seeing how much more was spent on pro-life, pro-chastity lobbies than was spent on hungry neglected youths :sad

Hopefully I'm just being cynical?

Don't be surprised if they start up.
Isalm didn't have charities for a long time. However they observed Christian missions and determined that things like charities were a very good vehicle for sharing faith. So they started up various charities with the aim of spreading their faith.
Recently atheists have started becoming more militant in spreading their views so it won't be long before they realise that things like charities can go a long way towards promoting their ideals.
