His Father’s house is the church of God and the body of Christ(the people). The many mansions are the many dwelling places or bodies for the church of God.
Jesus is preparing a body to dwell in so that when he comes to receive your body you can be where he is.
We already have a body we are born with which will be made glorious later , just one body of our own .

21Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

The life of our current flesh is the blood. Our breath is the animating force..the changed flesh needs no blood for its life. The Spirit is its life.
