They rejected Christ and are still hoping to receive whoever they are looking forward to receive.

They are looking for the Messiah of Scripture and they will receive him when the Almighty lifts the blindness from their eyes (Romans 11).

But before that happens the Antichrist ( a renegade Jew possessed by Satan) will appear on the scene and proclaim "I am your true Messiah and I am God" and many will be deceived (2 Thess 2:1-12). "Antichrist" means both opposed to Christ and also a substitute for Christ. This is the Man of Sin, the Son of Perdition, and "he shall stand up against the Prince of princes, but he shall be broken without hand" (Dan 8:25).

So the earlier we receive and believe the better for us

Exactly. This is the Day of Grace during which God makes NO DISTINCTION between Jew and Gentile. But if the Jews continue to reject Christ, they will be placed under strong delusion and end up accepting the Antichrist. A careful study of 2 Thess 2:1-12 makes this very clear. That is why the epistle to the Hebrews (Jews) says TODAY IF YE WILL HEAR HIS VOICE HARDEN NOT YOUR HEARTS.

asking a Christian what the Jews are looking for isn't the place to ask.

why not ask one? they all have their version of what type of moshiach they want
