Who are the ones who shall be born again ? Remember Jesus words Jn 3:7

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. to Nicademus.

Well, all the ones that Jesus came to redeem and did in fact redeem, by His Blood Gal 3:13; Eph 1:7.

Now all who have been redeemed by His Blood are sprinkled with it 1 Pet 1:1-2

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

The sprinkling of the Blood here denotes Redemption, and Christ's Blood redeems those He died for, from a vain manner of life 1 Pet 1:18-19

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation[manner of life] received by tradition from your fathers;

19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

A vain manner of life is contrasted to a Holy Manner of Life as in 1 Pet 1:15

15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

Now in a unregenerate state, no matter how religious and moral we may have been, are lives are vain, unprofitable [Rom 3:12],our walk or manner of life before New Birth is stated here Eph 2:2-3

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Now understand, lust of the flesh here does include being religious. Paul writes here 2 Tim 4:3

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

This is not talking about sexual lusts and all that, but religious lusts, false doctrines apostate from the Truth; But Christ's precious blood redeems those He died for from that vain manner of Life by New Birth. Lets go back to Vs 18 1 Pet 1:18

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

This is key here as to understanding the power of the Cross and Redemption, those Christ died for are redeemed FROM a vain manner of life. The word from is the greek preposition ek and it means:

A primary preposition denoting origin (the point whence action or motion proceeds), from, out (of place, time, or cause; literal or figurative

I.out of, from, by, away from

His death/blood redeems them He died for out of,away from a vain manner of life !

The redemption delivers from evils of every kind, internal and external.

Now lets go back to 1 Pet 1:1-2, and the result of the sprinkling f the blood, which again denotes redemption, it is that we are begotten again by the resurrection of Christ from the dead 1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

This being begotten again is a New Life ! The word for begotten again anagennaō means:

I.
to produce again, be born again, born anew

II.
metaph. to have one's mind changed so that he lives a new life and one conformed to the will of God

This New Life here is obtained for them and applied because of the redemption of His Blood.

So the ones who are to be born again, are the ones Christ died for and redeemed with His Blood

:goodpostWhat you post is very true. I hope an unsaved individual checks out this post. There certainly is enough power in these words to convict anyone.

Very good post.

The same author of the Gospel of John defines "born again" in 1 John 5:1 - "Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God."

1 John 3:14;
"We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other".
These are those (and us) who are born again.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

So what do you understand my points to be ?

2 Pet 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.

1 John 2:2~~and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

Christ died for the whole world. and desires all men to be saved.

The sin issue was taken care of at the cross, the curtain was torn and all men have access to God through the cross.

He died for ALL men because He eliminated the SIN issue between God and man. Now it is the SON. And we are told to believe on the SON for salvation.

Christs blood paid the penalty for ALL sin, Now it is the SON that is the Issue, not sin. If you do not have the SON you do not have eternal life.

Whosoever believes in me will not perish, but have everlasting life.” Jn 3:15

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish, but have everlasting life.” Jn 3:16

“He that believes on him is not condemned, but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Jn 3:18

“He that believes the Son has everlasting life, and he that believes not the Son, shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” Jn 3:36

“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one that which sees the Son, and believes on him, will have everlasting life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”Jn 6:40

“Truly I say unto you, he that believes on me, has everlasting life.” Jn 6:47

.He does NOT let some believe and hold back belief from others.

Sorry, just thought I would throw up some truth to any unbelievers who might read through this thread.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall/will be saved.:biggrin2

Great verses that will probably get tossed aside in this thread. :amen

And Deb I see that you have become very tactful and impersonal when it comes to things that I know you disagree with. Good Job.

But I have not grown that much and have a hard time keeping my mouth shut!

I saw this thread and thought.........:grumpy,:drool:rollingpin:eek:sick:horsebut there are some very intelligent and spiritually minded people on this forum that will make the theology of hyper calvinism look pretty :hysterical.

So what do you understand my points to be ?

You have listed with Scripture very important verses that identify the error of being unsaved. You paint a good picture of why a person should not remain lost. You have produced , again from Scripture, the way for a person to turn to Christ and be saved.
