I secretly liked his music. It was uncool at High School to say you liked John Denver.
So I never talked about it to classmates.
Some great songs actually.
You fill up my senses
Rocky Mountain High
Country roads

I bought his album. He was very positive. Very sensitive. Very loving. Probably a nice guy in real life. Some said I looked like him. Because I wore glasses.

Look he wasn't my fave artist but he deserves respect. He was original imo.

I enjoyed his music, but it was floated around that he had attended a workshop retreat with other musicians and lifted (stole) the song Rocky Mountain High while he was there......not cool.

I liked his stuff too.
It was "take a breath" music.

Up there in the mountains where he lived during the gas crisis in the 1970's, he had gas tanks put in the ground so he could still get around.
It was one of his less creative moves, one he didn't want to be remembered by.
But, I remember.
Also, though I admit he wrote some good talented songs, I never cared for him.

he was In a movie with George Burns called "Oh God ".
Burns played the part of God. Denver was a decent hard working supermarket manager.
it was an interesting movie. Good jokes from Burns and interesting take on the fake prosperity gospel ministers.
