Who wants to punch this guy for being a dumb?

Honestly, I think it's sad. He has deceived himself and is proud of it, and all of his fans who sit there laughing will one day bow their knee and proclaim that Jesus is Lord. But it will be too late, I feel sorry for him and people like him, because he truly thinks that he is being smart...How sad.
 
I fail to understand the logic behind the thoughts of people like him. Everything they accuse people of religion of being (forcing there views on others, attacking any beliefs that differ from their own etc) they are guilty of themselves. Does anyone seriously believe that the absence of religion will end all the worlds problems? Most modern-day wars have had nothing to do with religion, separating ourselves from one another is human nature.

You remove religion and all that would be accomplished is that our other differences would become more apparent. Black/white, male/female, rich/poor, black/mixed-race, black/Hispanic, Bengali/Pakistani, Indian/Pakistani, east/west Arabic/African the list goes on. If anything, modern Christianity is the only thing that has managed to bring all these differing people into unity. Sure, there are problems with religion but the same could be said about anything. Without religion there would be no Gandhi, there would be no Martin Luther King, there would be no Mother Taressa.

In my view Christianity is the most tolerant faith out there and is truly universal but 'militant' (anti-theist) Atheists seem more than happy to only focus their criticisms and attacks on our faith and our God. Why don't you grow a backbone and speak out against Islam and its founder instead of defending a faith that you have no respect for anyway by saying "well, your kind done 'this' a few hundred years ago." people like him are cowards who feed their ego's by attacking the weak and easy targets.

A) Yes, the only thing that would stop me is...my religion.
 
Believe it or not, the best thing to do about this movie is to go see "An American Carol". Seriously.

Maher and his ilk want to believe that they speak to the common man. Somehow, they don't see that their brand of "I know better than you what's good for you and what isn't" elitism is far more offensive than what religion offers (except for extreme violent fundamentalism, which is on the idiot fringe of religion).

In the end, a movie like this isn't going to cause any seriously faithful person to lose faith. However, if "An American Carol" blows "Religulous" out of the box office, then maybe, just maybe (but don't hold your breath) Hollywood might get the message that most folks simply don't believe them and in fact they're out there on the fringe as well.

However if "Religulous" makes any kind of money at all, expect it to be nominated for an Oscar for best documentary. These people do have an agenda to maintain.

edit* Keep in mind that "An American Carol" is rated PG-13 and is, after all, by the same guy who gave us "Airplane", so there is bound to be some questionable content. Plugged In is doing a review early next week on it. I wish it could be sooner, because I think that it would be best is "Carol" out sells "Religulous" this weekend.
 
Seriously! He's horrible and blasphemous and sad. He actually thinks he's been witty! And he thinks we're funny? He's funny for thinking he's so smart with all his sarcasm. It's just disgusting...and people actually think this guy is intelligent.
 
As for An American Carol...I rather not. Better than Bill Maher but still, not necessary (and it looks a little vulgar)

Let's all go buy Sleeping Beauty on DVD!

I agree! I'm not interested in either. The funny thing is before I became a christian I was a fan of Bill Maher, but now he just sickens me proof of how GOD can change a man.
 
That's awesome to hear, Misfit! I'm glad you decided to take a different, better road.

I just don't think it takes a very big or brave man to sit there and make fun of people and make a documentary out of it. Making sarcastic comments towards people's "silly" beliefs isnt' going to change anything. It's a waste of time and energy and, in his case, money.

Yes Bill Maher, you're so awesome for hitting at people's soft spots! You are so big and strong! We're all really impressed with your smarts and funnies. Oh wait, is that sarcasm?? Yes, yes it is.
 
Bill Maher has soooo much baggage. He is one of the bitterest people I know of, and has made it his life's goal to blaspheme God and His people. He spends countless time focused on the one he claims to not believe in. May God bring him to his knees in repentance.
