Rev 14;9-10
And the third angel followed them ,saying with a loud voice,If any man worship the beast and his image, and recieve his mark in his forehead,or in his hand,
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God,which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation;and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.

It has been proven on this board on several occasions that Babylon is in fact Jerusalem.
It is proven with scripture that Babylon worship the beast.

Rev 16;19
And the great city was devided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell;and great Babylon came in remembrance before God,to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fieceness of his wrath.

Whoever worships the beast is given the cup of the wine of the wrath of God and it is written that Babylon(Jerusalem) is given that cup.The scripture doesnt say its given to anyone else.Just because Jews from all over the world have gone into Babylon to worship the beast when it appeared .It does not mean the entire world worships the beast.

The greek word "ghay" can mean country.I understand everyone wants to believe it means the entire world but it can mean just a country as well.People should consider this especially since the word of God doesnt say God shall give the cup of his wrath to all the world.

19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

Hi Shiloh....

Don't these verses above suggest the whole world will be effected by God's wrath?

Also this verse:
16:19
And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the
nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

I mean....I agree with you that "great Babylon" is refering to Jerusalem..but.....it recieves the "fierceness" of his wrath. Now...that doesnt mean Jerusalem recieves ALL of his wrath just the fierceness or "passion". Another way to say it would be the "brunt" or the focus maybe.

I dont think you could read that to mean that ONLY Jerusalem will recieve wrath.

Doc.

Jerusalem is definately NOT Babylon!!! Rev 11:8 says Jerusalem, "spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt."
In Rev. 17 the angel describes ROME as Babylon!

Define "the beast". There is a lot of misplaced worship in the world, so how do you know someone is worshiping "the beast" as opposed to the sun, stars, moon, ancestors, statues, trinkets, critters, myths, ideals, money, death, success, themselves, conservatism, etc. What makes "the beast" "the beast"

Just because you've said it doesn't mean it's been proven.

Just because Jews from all over the world have gone into Babylon to worship the beast when it appeared .It does not mean the entire world worships the beast.

Then what does this mean...

All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. (Rev. 13:8 NIV)

I understand everyone wants to believe it means the entire world but it can mean just a country as well.People should consider this especially since the word of God doesnt say God shall give the cup of his wrath to all the world.

Doesn't it?

Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the LORD's wrath. In the fire of his jealousy the whole world will be consumed, for he will make a sudden end of all who live in the earth. (Zeph. 1:18 NIV)

Therefore wait for me," declares the LORD, "for the day I will stand up to testify. I have decided to assemble the nations, to gather the kingdoms and to pour out my wrath on them— all my fierce anger. The whole world will be consumed by the fire of my jealous anger. (Zeph. 3:8 NIV)

In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations. (Hab. 3:12 NIV)

Sounds like the whole earth to me.

Doc.

Ive not read of his wrath being anywhere else Doc.

One point I was trying to make is the scripture points out that Babylon worships the beast and his image and recieves his mark.Someone tryed to say in another thread that the beast destroys Babylon but it doesnt. The ten horns do but they themselves are not the beast.

Then what does this mean...

All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. (Rev. 13:8 NIV)
I knew that question would be asked so I coverd it in my first post.
Again

The greek word "ghay" can mean country.I understand everyone wants to believe it means the entire world but it can mean just a country as well.People should consider this especially since the word of God doesnt say God shall give the cup of his wrath to all the world.

Im nort saying the world will not be destroyed.Imsaying God has pointed out his wrath shall fall upon Babylon for worshiping the beast .He didnt say his wrath be upon the world. He has made it a point to say Babylon .

Next time you want to say the entire world worships the beast ,you could be wrong.
It might just be a country.

Ive not read of his wrath being anywhere else Doc.

Huh? I've just shown you with that scripture?

Jesus will go out and smite THE NATIONS with wrath.

Wrath will cover the BREADTH of the Earth.

And when you say only Babylon will be effected by wrath then that is correct but Babylon is ANYWHERE where confusion reigns.

WHORE of Babylon is Jerusalem not simply Babylon.

Docster.

The beast is a man and the empire he rules. 666 is his number and it is a number of a man.

2 Thessalonians 2
1 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

He will claim to be God and will demand to be worshipped as such. And people will worship him as God. The great deception as i see it will be this man the son of perdition claiming to be the returned Messiah Jesus, Or for the Jews the promised Messiah. Many will believe and they shall worship Him.

I agree that "the beast 666" is a man and his empire personified, but that is not the only beast in the Bible. So what are the characteristics that identify a "beast"?:help

Second Thessalonians does not include the word "beast", so I suspect it is describing something else.

Ok doc.Ive showed you proof that the city Babylon worshipos the beast and his image in this thread because that is who is given the cup of God's wrath.Show me where another city is given that same cup for worshiping the beast.please.
Keep in mind this thread is about who worships the beast .Can yo show me where it says Sidon worships the beast or Sidon is given the cup of God's wrath?

The he you are quoting of is not the seven headed beast.Paul is speaking of Daniel's king of the north here. They are not the same. The seven headed beast does not give the mark of the beast. The second beast of revelation does this. That beast has two horns and can make fire come down out of heaven in the sight of man.
He doesnt want anyone to worship himself. He wants them to worship the first beast which had the daedly wound. Please study these things before posting.

All the beasts in prophecy are Empires/ Emperiors. All the horns are Kingdom/Kings

A horn on a Beast is the Kingdom/King that rules that Empire. When you have two horns then two Kingdoms rule the Empire. And the final beast has 10 horns that means the final Empire will have 10 kingdoms that control it. And a little horn will rise out of that empire and userp, either by taking over or defeating 3 of the horns. that final little horn will be the Anti-christ or son of perdition He will rule the Beast and is the beast in person.

Thessalonians does not use symbolisim and it does not need to. It is a pain speach description of the final great evil leader who will decieve the world.

Why do I need to give you specifc city names when the bible says ALL will worship the beast?

13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast:
and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast?
who is able to make war with him?
13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and
blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and
two months.
13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme
his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to
overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and
tongues, and nations.
13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names
are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the
foundation of the world.
13:9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.

Because the bible gives the specific city name of Babylon the great .It even says its a city.
Revelation 16;19.

All who dwell where?The earth.
Thats what Im saying ,The word translated into earth can mean a country.
Al, who dwell within the country.

You chose to believe its the entire world. The bible doesnt teach that.
As for many tongues, and nations. That is a description of the people of Israel .If you hadnt noticed it is a country of immigrants. They are from all over the world.

probably from a prim. root

a race, a nation, pl. the nations (as distinct from Isr.)

They are from many nations.

THe little horn has already defeated those contries.Israel defeated Jordan,Syria and Egypt in 1967.It was called the 6 day war.THere was a time when the seven hilled city of Jerusalem belonged to those ten kings but no more do they dwell there.Since that 6 day war only the little nation called Israel controlls those seven hills.THe others were plucked up and removed.
