Oscar goes live in UK from midnight till 5am on Sunday night

I'll happily wait for the highlights on Mon eve: how @ you? 8-)

Call me a cynic, but there sure seems to be a lot of politics in the Oscars, yes? :o

Why should an abomination/perversion promo like Brokeback Montain be so widely feted? Anyone who's not read Romans 1:18-32 clear roadmap of the slippery slope down to decadence & degradation needs to check it out @ http://www.BibleGateway.org

Why should Steven Spielberg's best movie yet - Munich - be so panned?

Anyone unfamiliar with Joel 2-3 & Zechariah 12-14 & Revelation 16-19 needs to check 'em out there too

What @ the other contenders?

Have we yet trained ourselves to seek God's guidance for this unique weekend of opportunity, while so many are speaking of it as a "great year for the Oscars"?

Now's our chance!

Do see their reviews @ http://www.HollywoodJesus.com for spiritual etc insights to mention to your friends this weekend, OK?

To be honest, the only best pic; nominee I've seen is Crash.
I haven't had a chance to see the others.
OTHER THAN, sore butt mountain, :smt078,,... I think they're probably all deserving of an Oscar ,..but, I really really want Crash to win :smt026 because, even though I didn't see the others ,in my opinion, Crash was/is the only one that really makes you stop and think :smt115 . So much so, that you actually treat people differently, right away :smt052 . I'm positive ,that many people saw that movie, and started treating others with more respect :smt056 ,kindness :smt058 and understanding :smt057 . Theres not too many movies out there that can cause that kind of positive reaction. ... I think it deserves to win....but it probably wont,...too many in hollywood doesn't see it that way I'm sure :smt108

I'm soooooo happy, Crash won the Oscar!!!! I guess there were enough bright people in "The Academy" to overule the ding bats. :smt026 .

MUCH ENCOURAGEMENT FOR PROPHETS, PREACHERS PRAYER WARRIORS!

Praise God that the most pervy pundits were proved wrong!

I'll see if there's yet a thread @ Crash

Here's the telling comment @ her acceptance speech that I just saw on yahoo:-

She was commenting on a year that saw the box office sinking, provocative independent films dominating big studio fare and a tiny-budgeted ensemble drama from outside Hollywood taking first prize.

Lead-acting Oscars went to Philip Seymour Hoffman as author Truman Capote in "Capote" and Reese Witherspoon as country singer June Carter in "Walk the Line," while corporate thrillers earned supporting-performer Oscars for George Clooney in "Syriana" and Rachel Weisz in, "The Constant Gardener."

With today's amazing technology, God is calling creative Christians to tap into the postmodern Generations X & Y's love of story-telling rather than just academic argument

I recall Billy Graham's 1973 UK training week @ Earl's Court, London - SPR-E '73 - (Spiritual Re-emphasis exhortation, encouragement & training)

How we need that today as we seek to engage with culture & 'take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ'

I went to the daily seminars about other faiths & the cults

Each day, the seminar leader asked any saved out of such to come give their testimonies on the Friday

What stunned everyone there is that each & everyone who testified to how they fell in love with the Lover of Souls - our precious Lord Jesus Christ - wasn't the intellectual arguments, but the wonderful & practical love shown them by sincere Christians

When digital techno was 1st mooted, it was said that it meant that every town & city would have its own cable TV channel & local radio station

I recall how, when we got our 1st TV in 1955 UK, there was only 1 station

I only got Sky in the January sales bargain offer

Just @ 2 weeks ago, the channel numbers changed - Christian channels are now on Sky freeview 760-771

But that very day of change, Dove TV came on

On 27 March, Revelation TV launch their music station

Both call for Christian singers, songwriters & bands to get in touch if they know God is calling them to impact TV audiences

Same for Christian drama/films, etc

More stations means more creative Christian writers are needed

Hone your skills on our Poetry & Creative Writing forum

http://www.christianforums.net/viewforum.php?f=29

Google Christian creative writing & you'll find forums specially for Christian writers to encourage each other

You'll also find online Christian tuition in writing for stage, screen & books, mags, etc

Any UK reference library will have The Writers' & Artists' Year Book - which gives, not only the addresses of all publications open to freelance contributions, but details exactly what style & content they specialise in

Having done a creative writing course, years ago, a piece of standard advice is to ask around your friends for back copies of mags you feel called to write to & for & get used to what both the editors & the readers respond to most, OK?

I was thrilled to go to the monthly Southport evangelical 18 youth groups' joint multimedia last night @ Sunny Southport's new Shoreline (AoG Pentecostal) Church as they sought to reach out to dehydrated, marooned souls with refreshmant, revival & renewal of heart, soul, mind & spirit

Many readers may know its 'Pastor Pete' from the many media features @ God's Estate Agent, who now houses 250+ formerly homeless folk

Appropriately, it was about image & fashion, to interest the unsaved

A dynamo young lady pastor with the Orlando Masters Commission team, who are right in the middle of their 2-weeks' mission to local schools & youth groups, emphasised how "Man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart"

Seek prayer for anointing, & regular prayer support

We have a prayer request/praise report forum

You really need face-to-face involvement with an enthusiastic evangelical fellowship too, of course

Enthusiasm comes from the Greek words, en theos - in God

If folk can get excited about film/TV/rock/sports stars - making idols of their heroes, contrary to God's Word (as in the 10 Comandments of Exodus 17) - we need to model the only rational, reasonable response to all the wonderful things that Almighty God has done for us - as per Romans 12:1-2

Lets 'exalt the Lord our God..magnify HIS name!'
