Why are there 3 different accounts of the creation of male and female in the Bible. ?
Genesis 1:27..... Genesis 2:7.....Genesis 5:1-2 . Wasn't the first one long enough or did they do 2nd Genesis to have a longer and more indept look at all of creation. As for Genesis 5 I have no idea why that was worded the way it was. Just wanted some feedback on this , I was told there is a fourth account , but I have never found it.

Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.

you wont like my answer.

Each one of the diffrent 3 authors there, decided that their version was better, or easier to write, or something, So thats what they included.

Nice try, P. 8-)

The first account is a chronological account. The second, a non-chronological, more detailed account, the third is nothing more than a synopses and introduction to the geneology of Adam

There are many different authors in Genesis. If you find something that says:

"These are the generations"

That is where one author is signing off and another one takes over.

Genesis 2:4
Genesis 5:1
Genesis 6:9
Genesis 10:1
Genesis 11:10

and so on and so forth.

But to be sure, Genesis 1 is an account of events that happened on the first 6 days and Genesis 2 is an account of events that happened in the Garden of Eden on day 6. :)

Bonsai,

Well in my bible it says that Moses is the author of the first 5 books of the bible so if this is indeed correct then he and only he wrote them. So why the 3 different accounts of the same thing , how man and woman were formed. ?
Also in the first account it is very simple and says that God created man in his own image , male and female created he THEM. Now it doesen't say just 2 people were created as in one man and one woman nor does it say there were more then 2 created.
Then in Genesis 2 we read that God created man from the dust of the earth, but that he created woman from adams rib, now here is where we find an exact number only 2 people were created.
Ok in Genesis 5 we see it says very plainly that in the day God created man he made them male and female and called THIER name adam. I watched a show on the Bible on the history channel and was surprised when the statement was made that the word adam in ancient hebrew meant PEOPLE. Now if this is correct then it would answer alot of gaps in Genesis.
