I can see Christ (GOD) works more with the inexperienced than HE does with the experienced.

An expert feels He already knows all and probably requires little or no direction.

Peter had to obey Christ when Christ asked him to cast the net on the right hand side. Do you think he did it immediately - without showing some signs of 'what-does-HE-think-HE-knows attitude? He must have obeyed reluctantly...or have only wanted to prove to Christ: I will do it to prove there are no fishes. Peter's attitude was clear: Lk. 5:5 Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because
you say so, I will let down the nets.â€

That's a good observation.... He might have, because John 21 says the disciples didn't recognize Jesus at the time.

Peter and a few others were fishermen by trade, Judas was an accountant and Jesus did use those skills they had. However, somewhere in Acts the disciples (at least some of them) were called ignorant and unlearned men. So there he was using inexperienced people when it comes to the Word. Then again, he also used Paul who was an allstar Pharisee... The best I can come up with is he had a diverse group both in earthly professions and religious knowledge.

I agree with this premise. It's the same as putting wine into new wineskins instead of old ones. The old wineskin people are set in their ways, they "know-it-all" and won't change.

As for myself personally, it can understand that it's safer emotionally not to change and act like an expert. But the truth of the matter is most people here would not realize how much I changed my beliefs over the years as I studied scripture more. I was brave enough to say I was wrong about some things and changed. And some are quite obvious errors I gave up. Some errors are even in the doctrinal statements of this board! But I was once like that --- but most people will just hang on. Maybe out of fear that if they "have it wrong" they'll end up in an ever-burning hell. Something I used to believe, too, and changed from that nonsense.

Yes - HE also uses the best. HE seems to love equipping the empty with something...thus HE often uses 'em
