Within the last few years lots of Christians have been accused of judging others in the secular world. Many in the world believe that a person's behaviour should not be frowned upon. They try to say that when Jesus mentioned this statement in Matthew 7. 1-3. this admonition is for Christians.
Today those who are part of the homosexual agenda believe no one should judge their behaviour or for that matter any other sexual sin or any sin in general.

I believe that as Christians we have to make judgement concerning right and wrong.
  • Joseph did it when Potiphar's wife came towards him
  • John the Baptist judged Herod when he told him he was sinning by marrying his brother's wife
There are other examples. I believe we cannot condemn people but calling sin by its rightful name is what any Christian should do. We must be able to make a judgment concerning evil.

Your comments are welcomed.

The world is hostile to The Good News. I mean, people in and of the world crucified Jesus. enough said.

As the world moves to a more secular paradigm, hostility towards Christianity grows and becomes more aggressive and open. Its "the way the world works" these days, I suppose.

What bothers me more than hostility from the secular world is people who try to reshape Christianity and Jesus to fit their agenda. That happens both with conservatives and with liberals/progressives, it seems.

often if someone says X is sin ... the persons doing X say they are being judged..
We can not pass judgement on anyone.. we can not condemn or justify anyone..
When a child is seen heading for the cliff is it judgment to say STOP that will kill you?

I tell you the Truth, if I was around at the time of Christ I would have been with the crowd calling Christ a fraud. I would have been in harmony with the masses i admit it.

If I lived 2000 years ago and Christ done a miracle I would have said hes demon inspired. The biggest joke in the history of mankind.

Yes that was him calling me a hypocrate all through scripture.

I put Jesus Christ on the cross.

Yes that was him calling me a hypocrate all through scripture.

And he saved my life.

I judged Jesus Christ. I judged the Son of The Most High. I judged The Most High. I judged God. Dang that some serious stuff. I need repent again, not ask forgiveness as I already done that dont want put Christ on the cross again, but appologise and show some respect.
Those first six verses are a paragraph and your post explanation is on the Bullseye, dead center. When we study the bible as one entire book, Provers teaches us only a foolish man does not judge and I know that I have judged when I needed to lube my helicopter, which pilots to trust, who to marry, which highway to take, and not to sin and not to hang out with those that do.

I have included the entire chapter of the Christian resource I already published, after converting to PDF. It will potentially give a more thorough view of this concept, all it entails, and clarifies some common misconceptions/misappropriations of specific scriptures. It has 3 sections: Clarifying Contradiction; Whether it is right or not,(which it not only is right, but is our right and duty BUT only in specific qualifying circumstances, applied in the proper manner, and in the proper attitude/spirit/intent); and finally Collateral Damage, illustrating the detriment judgment can be.

BTW plz forgive misspelling of judgement..lol...accidentally uploaded the original version that was unedited...LOL

We judge because we see the plank in someone else's eyes whilst not seeing the plank in our own eyes.
We measure our sin and grade it according to someone else's sin. We can find ourselves being like the Pharisees.

Truth is all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

With regard to sin, Jesus said he had to go back to the Father in order for the Holy Spirit to come to convict the world of its sin. That sin is unbelief in him.

Yes we are to make a judgment concerning what is right and what is wrong, sin as we call it and sin as `Jesus identified with the adulteress woman.

"Does no one condemn you? Now go sin no more"

Notice no judgment no condemnation, just an acknowledgement that she was walking in a way that God does not want her to.

We need to be careful not to judge someone else and at the same time condemning them.

Joseph spoke the truth, John the bapstist spoke the truth. The truth is the truth of God. He hates sin but does love the sinner.

To speak the truth of God is not to judge, it's revealing the truth. If they can't handle the truth that's up to them.

Well you see, good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from poor judgement lol. :nag

I would redirect here to another line of thought: We must always use caution when "Swinging the Sword of Truth," (Word of God.) This is why in 2 Timothy 2:15 we are told: "Study to show yourselves approved unto God; a workman who needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth."

Truly we do well to realize that any authentic and scripturally sound witness is based and empowered by the very Spirit which makes "All scripture God-breathed..." and, "Living and active,"...(2 Tim 3:15/16 & Hebrews 4:12/13 for full verses mind you.).

This being so, the presence of the Spirit; whether in sincere witness, or via our speaking the Word of God; has the inherent ability to bring with it a tremendous weight of spiritual conviction. This means those whom the Spirit is imparting conviction to can easily misinterpret the uncomfortable feeling as the condemnation of man. Since things of the Spirit can only be discerned by those born of the Spirit; and by those whose senses have been trained to recognize it;(Hebrews 5:11-14)...it should be no surprise that both the unsaved and the spiritually immature will equally be prone to thinking this is man's judgment.
Second, we do well to note that no matter what man speaks; it is the very Word of God itself that measures and judges a person, act, or intention as righteous or unrighteous. If one speaks the truth of Scripture into another's life and the other feels judged; that is the integrity and living nature of God's Word doing the judging, not the man.( I speak this specifically in the context that a believer is speaking the truth of God's Word accurately and properly applied. This is not to be confused with folks misappropriating the Word for use as a tool or lever to promote an agenda or flawed view.)
Lastly, let us consider Jesus' interactions with the Pharisees and religious leaders of His time. He was aggressively combating their tendency towards quick and heavy-handed judgment; rather than dispensing mercy, grace and love. The whole idea here folks: Whether you choose to apply your God given right and duty in Christ to judge, or not; the critical matter is the heart. The intention and driving purpose are far, far more critical than the action. Thanks n God Bless!
