Yes! Why does God want us to depend on HIM? HE gave us instinct! He allowed to us free-will! HE has given us ability to reason and act on our own...in fact we are gods - man is a god. And does God want us to depend on HIm?

God doesn't want us to depend on him,we DO depend on him and he wants us to know it AND LIVE ACCORDINGLY,every breath we take in an atmosphere he created, every bite of food grown in soil he created, every invention created that operates and depends on the laws he put in place....he sends rain on the just(those who know and acknowledge their dependedence) and the unjust(those who refuse to) the absolute dependence upon God by every living creature is a reality, accepted or not accepted.

in fact we are gods - man is a god.

Ezekiel 28:2 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord God: “Because your heart is proud, and you have said, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of the gods, in the heart of the seas,’ yet you are but a man, and no god, though you make your heart like the heart of a god.

God depends on us to depend on ourselves depending on the holy spirit and the kingdom of heaven within us to guide us.

The reason why is because of what Lord Jesus Christ has taught us..."I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5 NASB

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. To reject the very source of love will not allow you to enter heaven.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. We are gods......... yes. Because of that, we have free will, will judge angels and have common sense. God never said I want you to depend on me. Not one time.

He did say that trust in man brings a snare. He said leaning to our own understanding is not cool. He did say without Him we are without hope in this World.

So, by using common sense, and the fact we are in God's class but not the big guy. Then common sense would tell a reasonable person to trust in the one that made everything and can do anything.

Being god and man, we do have common sense, and if we ignore our nature then we are not really being god and man, but just a man. If just a man, we are in trouble.

Mike.

I can understand what Mountain Man is saying here. For us to ask why does God want us to depend on Him would be like a new born baby asking why his parents would want him to depend on them.... It's not something that is "wanted"... it just is a simple fact that a newborn baby is wholly dependent upon his parents... just like we are wholly dependent upon God. We are as individuals and we are as a species.

Sorry for the confusion, perhaps some questions are in order

Can you live without breathing God's air with the lungs God gave you ?

Can you live with out the food and water God created ?

Can you live apart from the natural laws God created ?

What can you do,create or invent apart from the natural resources God created ?

How is it possible that you can even imagine or comprehend God ?

Do you realy think it's all your idea ?

Hell is the absence of God where you will have nothing but yourself, people without God is the definition of Hell.

Agreed.....

Our dependence as believers is in faith in him and his son lord JESUS as children; for we are his creation. Mankind is the "pots" and he is the "potter" in his magnificence. Our dependence and reliance in faith to understand the light and thee truth and most importantly the LOVE he has graced us with; all the provisions we ever needed we set before us and we are to give eternal thanks and praise.

Instead for the most part many of us DON"T!! Many of us ignore, misunderstand, are blinded, ensnared, coerced, enticed and lost. We are blinded to the reality of what has truly been offered to us, been granted to us; been graced with.

My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Psalm 62:7 NIV

Self-effort = "Works" (The Law)...as Christians we are under "Grace"!

When Christians fall back trying to meet the requirements for the law, when you fall back into self effort and depending on your ability, when you fall back into performance...the bible stays you have fallen from Grace. You are no longer in the unmerited favor of God. As a born-again Christian God wants us to have fellowship with the Holy Spirit. He is the one that will guide us, teach us, and write on our hearts.

ILove...Amen to both of your posts!
Before I read your first post, I was going to post that we can do nothing w/o Him.
