Why Doesn't God Stop Children From Sinning?

Many people see their children indulging in sin and wonder why doesn't God intervene to stop it? The simple reason for this is that God will honor his own commandments especially the 5th commandment where all of us are to honor our father and mother. People believe that honoring our parents means that we are obligated to honor only their goodness and forgo their evil pursuits. But God's 5th commandment isn't exclusionary against evil which means that if a child is doing the same evil that the parent has already done, both in thought and deed, then God will not intervene to stop the person from honoring the parent with the parents own evil behavior.

It must be remembered that God told Adam and Eve after they had sinned that, “the man has become like one of us knowing Good and Evil” Genesis 3:22. Evil therefore is an acceptable behavior to honor your parents if the parents themselves have already practiced the same evil. God will not intervene in any person's life in carrying out his 5th commandment to honor the parents if the parent's life is, or was, a life chasing after evil.

The all inclusiveness of the 5th Commandment, as pertaining to both good and evil behavior, is what allows God to extend his grace to both the saved and unsaved alike. A time will come when everyone will receive the mark of the beast '666' which will invalidate God's Covenant with man and with it all of God's 10 commandments. At that point God will remove his grace and Satan will do to man what he will for the 5th commandment promises long life which will be in short supply during the Great Tribulation – God's final judgment of mankind. (hint: read the Book of Revelation!)

So be very careful as a parent to forgo the evil of this world, both in thought and deed, or else when your child imitates that evil in their own life God will not stop the behavior because the child is honoring the parent with the parent's own behavior, Good or Evil, in thought and/or deed!

Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and then you'll receive the indwelling Holy Spirit that will help you resist the temptation of imitating and following all the evil in this world.

God Bless

as it was in the days of Noah.
Luke 17
22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.
23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.
24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Many people see their children indulging in sin and wonder why doesn't God intervene to stop it? etc. etc. etc.

You've got it.

Man has free will. If your child exercises his free will and sins then spank him. Then he will learn to connect pain with sin. That's a very good relationship to hold dear in one's heart. Sin absolutely causes pain for the sinner, the family, the friends, the community and even the nation.

God has given PARENTS the responsibility to raise their children "in the fear and admonition of the Lord." He's God, not the nanny.

Pro 22:15 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of correction will drive it far from him.
