Why God's People are Destroyed ?

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God...."

The lack of Knowledge God is refering to here is concerning the Law of God......the 10 commandments.

He says: 'MY' people are destroyed, for lack of [this] knowledge..."

Would you agree with me, that God's people are those who are suppose to be followers of His ?

YET, they are lacking in some essential knowledge required.

Again we read.....
Matthew 7:21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven".

Would you accept this Bible verse, as the will of God......

Eccl. 12:13 " Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man".

So then, Jesus Christ (God) asks this question:
Luke 6:46 "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say ?"

I hope I don't get too far off topic here, but many read that and try to fit themselves in both sides of the verse. For example, if one were to put it in their own words, they might say that it says:
"I am destroyed because of my lack of knowledge."

or even:
" I am being destroyed because of someone else's lack of knowledge."

We need to start reading it as: "Our brothers and sisters in Christ are being destroyed because of our lack of knowledge."

Our Christian life is not completed when we say "Amen" at the end of the sinners prayer. It starts there.

Gaining knowledge means gained responsibility.

I believe that this is the correct understanding.
or even:
" I am being destroyed because of someone else's lack of knowledge."
I do not believe anyones lack of Biblical knowledge effects me, directly....except If I were to accept their counsel.
I follow the Biblical test for truth:
Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them.

Gaining knowledge means gained responsibility.
I believe most people realize this.....and therefore avoid gaining knowledge, because of the greater responsibility upon them, thereafter.
