Why have so many men become so "weak"?

First and Foremost all humans are weak and fall. It is natural.

Fortunatley there are STRONG CHRISTIAN MAN! rooted in their faith.

I’ve noticed that some indecisive men, particularly within the Christian community in leadership roles and ministries, tend to hide when faced with challenges or decisions.

These men are clearly capable, so what’s really going on here?

I wonder if, on some level, they might unintentionally be carrying shame that affects their confidence or decision-making.

Shame or guilt could easily be the case.

Many have compromised and refuse to repent and bring their sin into the light.

The righteous are bold as a lion.

The wicked flee when no one pursues,
But the righteous are bold as a lion.
Proverbs 28:1

If a man lacks boldness, there may be some unrighteousness lurking in his life.

The effects of society may be part of it. They are bringing the emasculation process that's been underway in society at large into the church.

There's also not a lot of aggressive Christian male role models. There are some, but virility and masculinity are not all that heralded in Christian circles like maybe they should be, simply because these things can easily be associated with the flesh. But I think there is such a thing as a masculine mentality, and it is clearly something that people like Paul and some of the Old Testament prophets walked in. Paul killed men, and Moses killed one as well. And the first Gentile to receive the gospel was a Roman centurion named Cornelius.

There just has to be a distinction between a spiritual and psychological aggressiveness that is rooted in the soul and the flesh, vs. one rooted in faith as you say. As the scripture says, "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord."

I dunno 🤷‍♂️

Some ex Christians have written at length about the emasculation of church goers and how they have to be free of it etc etc

I don’t currently do church ⛪️ so I don’t really know? I’m not heterosexual so my experience has been more anti gay stuff even tho I accept scripture and just want to live right.

A lot of Christian morality is perceived by the world 🌎 as soft. I’ll just get that right out there. We live in a cruel increasingly dark world 🗺️ where eugenics and survival of the fittest are the norm. Of course…

It’s what the world 🗺️ believes…especially looking 👀 at the elites and the intellectual class that props up their power grabs…

But it’s this crazy making situation in which it’s a jungle and it’s getting worse…

But people act all tolerant progressive blah 😑 blah 😒 blah 😕

So my point is that a faith that values humility and self sacrifice and the least of these is going to be perceived at times as soft and ridiculous. The Good News is foolishness to those perishing in the world 🌍.

And then there’s the wider society that is sending everyone especially men mixed messages. More muscle! Go vegan! Fight! Dude needs therapy! Be a man! Gender is a social construct!

As best I can tell the established church ⛪️ has some influence in the society and is also influenced by it. Give and take. Probably more take these days. So…

Dealing with men in positions of power in the church ⛪️ means dealing with men who have been in a society that is making people in general but men in particular feel uneasy and confused 😵‍💫 about their roles.

I think 💭 also people have conflicting ideas 💡 of what to expect from churches church leadership men in general and Christian men who lead churches and ministries. We all bring stuff to the table basically.

What you are quite possible seeing is men who, though Christians, aren't "walking in the Spirit." If they were doing so, they'd be acting in a way that manifests the "fruit of the Spirit," part of which is godly boldness and courage, like Jesus often displayed. Oh, one can point at the feminization of men, and secular distortions of manliness in popular media, and the epidemic of fatherlessness in North America and think the "weak man" in the Christian community is the result of these things but, at bottom, it's always, for the Christian, a matter of who's in control of them. If the Spirit is in control, his life and work manifests in and through them, giving to them a courage and boldness that is godly (among other things).
