Why haven't we left the elementary doctrines?

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Much of Christianity is still caught up arguing these doctrines (myself included) that they call "meat", although this is clearly "milk" in Paul's (or whoever wrote this letter, Paul or maybe Barnabas) eyes. We can't even get ourselves together over these simple principles. Just goes to show how shallow our "religion" is (and yes, that is what it has become).

In my humble opinion, we are bored. Either we repeatedly offer "feel good" messages from the pulpits about how 'God' can give us "peace" and pay our bills and give us some vague definition of self-indulged "joy", or the so-called "pastors" try to turn to "prophecy". This or we get caught up arguing with the pagan world about homosexuality and evolution. Don't argue with those guys, just teach the Word. Nuts like Rod Parsely are naming themselves prophets out to change America... Those seem to be the only choices we have as believers as a whole. These things and arguing with each other about which is the right denomination and why whatever doctrines are the ones based on the bible. And what are these feuds usually about? Those elementary principles above. The congregation/assembly today has no sure foundation in anything. We can't get the basics down, or agree on the basics. Very sad.

The reason that satan would have individuals not understand the trinity of God, and the born again process, is that it is so simple of a message, how could anyone pass salvation up. Enter the confusion of satan to quench the truths of God with lies, deception, doubt, and false doctrine. (no offense)

You will never taste the meat of the Word of God until you have the milk digested, and the beginning milk of the Word is the foundation which Jesus Christ laid by which belief is given to each individual that is being saved from the point of justification, through sanctification, unto glorification. Still, trinity has nothing to do with this, and since it is classified as a "mystery", this cannot be truly considered "basic" or "milk" (or anything since it does not exist in my book). Also, nowhere is trinity required for salvation. Not a single line of scriptural evidence. And again, none of this has to do with the original point...

Let me say this in as simple of terms as I know how.

Consuming the meat of the Word of God is where spiritually mature believers will be, but they will never become spiritually mature believers until they have been born again of the Spirit of God, and have submitted to God in all three of his personages, the Spirit, the Father, and the Son during their spiritual development. The spiritual development of a believer begins at justification, while the maturation process takes place during the lifetime of sanctification, after which the believer is rewarded at glorification.

You haven't defined meat, for one. You've also placed preconditions upon the believer (specifically me) concerning meat by mentioning the trinity as basic criteria without the scriptural support. So basically, I cannot understand what meat is until I adhere to your definition and principles of doctrine and "milk". Also, you've seemed to assume you are "spiritually mature". Yet, you are trying to argue with me about what you call "milk". So you've done the exact same thing this thread was made for. This was an agree or disagree thread. Not one to do the things spoken against of in the content of the thread by singling me out as some one who does not know something based off your own criteria...without scriptural support.

Again, irrelevant to the original message and intent.

Christ stated a Truth in Matthew 4:4. And most folks never use the Book, as a whole. And this in Hebrews 6:1 is the Doctrine of Christ that we cannot live without. 2 John 1:6-11 covers only a couple verses of the 'Doctrine of Christ'. See 2 Timothy 3:16.

Anyway, it is God who tell's us that 'His Way Is IN THE SANCTUARY' Psalm 77:13. (check out other translations!) And you mention sanctuary on a forum, and what do you think that Christ would hear?? (this translation No? Try a poll!
