Why I Believe Christians, Become LOST !

The reason so many Christians will be lost, just before Jesus Christ comes again, is the lack of Biblical knowledge, which in turn results in Christians failing to do, exactly as Jesus Christ says to do...in order to be saved.
I base my reasonings on some Bible scripture here:

#1.) Matthew 24:37 'But as the days of Noe [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be".
And just how few were saved from destruction at that time ?

#2.) Luke 18:8 "I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth ?"
SO...in light of what Matthew 24 also says.....just before Jesus comes again, there is not much faith, to be found, on the earth.

So, what happened ?

Matthew 7:21-23 gives us a clue.....

7:21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
(DID YOU SEE IT ?)
7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity".

Notice that the term 'iniquity'....means, to commit sin.

What the vast majority of the Christian world fails to understand is that Salvation is...freedom, from committing sin.

As it is written: Romans 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
6:13 Neither yield ye your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness unto God.
6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
6:20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

The reason people will be lost is because they are not the Lord's sheep and never have been. Being as how they are not the Lord's sheep, the Lord didn't go looking for them and bringing them back to the fold therefore they are left to die out there because they didn't choose Christ to begin with.

And the reason why these people are lost is because they were too busy trying to get to heaven on their own merit (works) and do not have faith in what Christ did on the cross and have fallen from Grace. They do not have faith in the finished work of Salvation and wish to finish it themselves by works.

Gal 5 v 4
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from Grace.

Rom 10:3-4
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

I don't believe they even had the map! They had their own little map thing happenin' and it led them up the garden path. If they actually had God's map written on their hearts they would have followed it.

I'm glad someone is following my wise guy logic. 8-) Jay T, in the end Salvation will be the freedom from commiting sins when we reach heaven, but even Paul admitted to not completing the race.

1 Timothy 1:15
Philippians 3:12-14

Yes, perfection is to be our Goal, but I what your logic implies is that when Paul taught the churches, it was still a blind man leading the Blind.

Sputnik: But ...doesn't having God's map written on their hearts mean that they will love their neighbor and be obedient to God? Doesn't having God's map written on their hearts mean not having any other God? not making any graven images? not profaning God's name? being obedient to the 7th-day Sabbath? honoring one's parents? not killing? not committing adultery? not stealing? not bearing false witness? not coveting ...?

I can never understand why the moral principles of life as given above are so problematic for people. So then, if not the above, what exactly IS God's map that is written on our hearts, menag? Could you be more specific? Some to this forum might need more than this vague 'airy fairy' stuff so many of you talk about. By the way, menag, are YOU obedient to any or all of the above commands or do you view them as being of no consequence for you? No need to get too political, by the way ...a 'yes' or a 'no' will do.

Well, for one, those are all things a Christian should be doing, but they aren't first on the list. Belief in Christ's redemption comes first. God even said the Righteouss will live by Faith in Habakkuk 2:4, which is before Christ had come. Meaning first comes faith. Paul reminds us of this in Ephesians 2:8-9. However, as James taught in James 2:20, a Faith without such actions is useless, but nonetheless Faith comes first.

here is my view.

I believe so many christians become "lost" because instead of trying to follow the path of jesus, They are trying to get OTHERS to follow the path of jesus.

Jesus didnt try to get others to follow his path, when they didnt want to. He prayed for them still, But he did not continue to try to help.

the american christians, that ppl dont like, act like this..

Hog wash. Everytime He dealt with the Pharisees was a time He tried to help them see His truth. Christ even Commanded us to go forth and spread His message in Matthew 28:18-20.

Christ told us that if we love Him, we will obey His commands. Our faith is given freely through God's grace, and is counted to us as righteousness, but the evidence of that faith is the fruit we bear, and our obedience to God though our trust in Him, and our obedience to His Word. We should love His law, His Word...as David did in Psalm 119. So, as we become sanctified, we grow in the Light of His truth, and bear the Fruits of the Spirit, and long to please God and become conformed to the image of Christ through our obedience to Him. Obedience, as with our own children, is the way God protects us from the enemy and his deceptive firey darts. Obedience also brings us joy because we are in the Father's will, and He is able to bless us more than we ever thought possible.

Blessings

Actually no...WE do none of these things. Because we CANNOT. Rather it's God who does these things in us. Our desire to do good comes from God. The love that we have for one another doesn't come from us...rather it comes from the Holy Spirit. The goodness that comes from me is Christ. Christ having fulfilled the law once and for all and have written them on my heart. My driving force is the Holy Spirit and not me! Therefore God gets the credit and not me. The map is the HOly Spirt and freedom.

It's only problematic when instituted by man. It's only problematic when man takes the place of Christ in shepherding his people and making us obey the jewish Law. It's only problematic when man takes the place of God and judges those, who they see, are not 'doing' or 'being'. And it's problematic when such people seek to control the Lord's Sheep without any thought about Christ being the shepherd.

Am I obedient? Not by my own strength - no! Nor will I ever be. But through the law of the Holy Spirit of life in Christ Jesus I am made righteous in him. Whenever I try to be obedient I fail...thankfully I'm saved by God's grace. My faith in Christ's obedience is what brings salvation. But the learning to 'let go' and to 'let God' is a constant thing and God knows and understands that :)

Keep ignoring the fact that these people believed.....that they were Christians !
They never found out that they were wrong...until Jesus told them.

And does anyone realize the Sunday worship services ....is based, on works !
Gal 5 v 4
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from Grace.
Does anyone realize that the Law mentioned here, is the Sacrifical laws ?
Rom 10:3-4
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness,
which the Bible says that the commandments of God, is Righteousness, Psalms 119:172
and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.
Example ?
Substituting Sunday worship services in place, of what God says to do...."Rememeber the Sabbath day, to keep it holy"
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
(NKJ)[/quote]The word 'end' in Greek means....goal, destination to attain to, purpose

Actually no...it says that Jesus NEVER knew them. Then later it says that those who walk away make manifest that they were never one of them to begin with.

Example ?
Substituting Sunday worship services in place, of what God says to do...."Rememeber the Sabbath day, to keep it holy"

We have already entered into the sabbath via the Holy Spirit so therefore we continually walk in the sabbath (rest) in Christ.

OH...how perfect is satan's deceptions !

To get people to disobey God, while professing to serve Him.

And no one will understand because they fail to understand Satan's ...WAR...against God's commandments.

"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make [WAR] with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ".(Revelation 12:17)

Romans 10

6. ...Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

7. Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

im pretty sure that i remember a spot in i think mathew, where jesus was walkign around with the apostles, and they asked why he did not go to help the people of some city, and he said "because i have tried, and they do not want my help."

Sputnik: I think you might be referring to Matthew 10:11-14, and also Mark 6:11.

Galatians 3 Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Have ye suffered so many things in vain? If it be yet in vain.

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the bood of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith:

But the scripture hath concluded ALL UNDER SIN, that the promise BY FAITH of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

Wherefore the law was our school master to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, WE ARE NO LONGER UNDER A SCHOOL MASTER.

Galatians 4 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying Abba Father. Wherefore thou art NO MORE A SERVANT but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

But now after that ye have known God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

Galatians 5 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from Grace.

Ephesians 1 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.

Ephesians 2 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

That is why the 7th day Sabbath is so important....as Christ made it a sign of loyaly between Himself and the Christian..... "And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a [sign] between me and you, that ye may know that I [am] the LORD your God".

"And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say ?"
