Why was I born into the right religion?

I sometimes ask myself that. How did I stumble onto the truth so soon?
Christianity and more specifically Catholicism.
Those poor non Christians and non Catholics for that matter.
If I was born in say Asia, I might have been raised Buddhist. If Israel, Jewish. If Iran, Muslim. I feel sorry for them being raised in the wrong religion in the wrong country.
Praise the Lord, my ancestors were Irish and got sent to Australia for stealing potatoes!

Indeed, it is something to praise the Lord for.

It is actually a very involved question you ask. Atheist's use a form of it to tell Christians the only reason you are Christian is because of your family and where you are born are Christian. In other words, you were raised that way. But there is more to it than that.

God knows all who are His prior to their being born into this life. (Eph. 1:4). It is He Who decides the when and where you are born. So when He is forming a certain body of believers, such as Israel, or the Church, He will place the vast majority in the geographical area where that body exists and thrives. Why? Because they are His people and He wants them to raise up His children in His ways.

I'm talking about the majority, as there are certainly those who are born in the very midst of pagan religions. So, yes, be thankful.

To be pedantic. No one is born into Christianity. They might be born into a Christian family, but they still have to turn to Jesus and accept him as their Lord and Saviour.

Just as atheists have to decide to be atheist so we have to decide to be Christian.
