In the past I wanted to end a friend due to my personal inner issues which I felt would protext me from my weaknesses and falling into temptation and sinning.

However my Spirit made itclear to me. I am to be kind to this persom, gentle and patience. There were also dovine conidences which kept bringing us back in each others lifes.

Fortunaley they have had a good, positive, influence on me spiritually, physically, mentally, emotional and now finacially. Socially too. Most impprtantly the person prayers over encourages my relationship with God/Jesus which is why I listen to the Holy Spirkf and remain kind to this person.

But they seem lacking in certainity. But why would Father God want two people each others despite the persons desire. Btw God is not forcing me. Free will.

Hi MerciG777

If I am understanding you correctly it seems like this friend is being used of God to help you with your walk with the Lord. God will put many different types of people in our life to either edify us with the word of God, or for you to witness Christ to. I have many friends that reject Christ and I have many friends that the Holy Spirit used me to bring them to Christ.

My friend is a Christian themselves and seemingly doing fine.

Was your relationship with this person moving you into the path of temptation?

What is God's priority for your life? If this person brings temptation into your life in areas where you're weak, what is God's command to you?

Romans 13:12-14
12 The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.
13 Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.
14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

The alcoholic must avoid the bar; the porn addict must avoid the internet; the gambler must avoid the casino, and you must avoid the company of people who will tempt you in areas where you have a weakness.

Also, there are no "divine coincidences," only God's leading, or superstition. Do you know how to tell the one from the other?

And the "falling into temptation and sinning" stuff? What effect does your friend have on you in this regard? Is s/he helping you not to be tempted?

What does "lacking in certainty" refer to? Certainty about what?

It's not always God who makes the paths of people cross. The devil can do this, too - especially when he sees that they will cause damage to each other spiritually.

Good questions thank God for hos boundaries

I thought of all of this. Not neccesirly being tempted by them but we were both dealing with changes, so there hurt there. But I initially felt there would -1 plus -1 us bwing friends and I mean I am tempted to bury my head in the sand like I used prior to be born again. My journey before meeting this friend I fell of track as I suffer a deep loss, grief.

So it is sexual or alocholic temptation but my fear to go back to anxiety and stress because of expectations. With them it is also hurt, rejection and I have felt the holy spirit instruct to not reject him.

I didn't mean to suggest that your temptation was toward alcohol or sex, only that a Christian should avoid making opportunity to fulfill the "lusts of the flesh," which are many and varied.

There is great...relief in walking with God such that you are confident in His good opinion of you. When this is the case, when you know God is pleased with you, it doesn't matter if your fellow human beings are not pleased with you. All the world can reject you, but if you are walking well with God, your joy will be full and your peace, enduring.

How did the Holy Spirit "instruct" you? There is MUCH confusion among Christians about how God leads His children and how the Holy Spirit communicates with the born-again person. He doesn't do so primarily through our feelings.

"Feelings come and feelings go,
And feelings are deceiving.
My warrant is the word of God,
Nought else is worth believing."

God has given you His leading, He has told all of His children what His will is for them, in His word, the Bible. Do you know it well? Are you studying it daily? If not, you can be sure that you will eventually stray from God's will and be one who is easily deceived about His will.

Read Psalm 119.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

There is am error with writing. It was not neither of those issues. I was really tired when I was writing.

That is not either of those. That may have been your assumption. Sex and Alochol are not the only battles we have.

Yes, I understood you. I replied in my last post by saying that I wasn't speaking of you particularly when I wrote of the alcoholic or porn addict. These were just examples of a general principle I was pointing at; I wasn't pointing at you personally.

Hey All,
MerciG777, your spirit is not the Holy Spirit. Your spirit can be wrong. Think about why you are changing your mind. I have read your other posts so your relationship was not sexual or lustful. Has that changed for you or your friend?
Be very careful.

In general, God can keep people together because there is more that He wants you to learn from each other. If you are both benefiting from knowing each other, then continue to benefit.

Be careful with the financial issue in the relationship. The person who has and controls the money can get manipulative. Do not allow yourself to be manipulated because you owe a person money. In fact, friend or not, the financial part should be in writing so one cannot manipulate the other.

When you say "lacking in certainty" that leads me to believe one person in the relationship is ready to go further, and one is not. I will venture a guess; you are ready to make a commitment, and he/she is not.

I have an idea. Pray and ask God to bless you with your desire for this relationship. But put a time limit on it, say 3 months. (You cannot tell anyone about the prayer. If you do, you won't know the answer came from God.) If what you desire happens within the 3 months, that would qualify as a sign. If it does not happen, that is also a sign to end the relationship.

Keep walking everybody.
May God bless,
Taz

Neither of us barrow. I mean positive financial influence where I have saved and managed my money better.
