As a few of you know my brother is a chronic schizophrenic....The other day he lashed out and badly attacked my sister. He has been to the hospital several times but now they sent him finally to the County Prison....I fear for his safety...What do you think?

Was Justice served?

Jesus suffered on the cross and things like this still happen....I'm at a lost for everything...:nono2:help

Jesus did not suffer on the cross for our safety or for justice, but for our salvation.

From what you describe, I would say that justice was not served. But it also sounds like safety was a paramount issue.

Human justice isn't Gods justice. They may cross over (particularly if you ask God for justice to be done in a situation) and protection isn't going to automatically happen for those we love just because Jesus died. Jesus died so that we could come before the throne of grace and ask God to do things. So we could be mediators between God and man.

That means we can ask God to protect this or that person. Ask God to bless, heal, enable someone to repent. Ask God for mercy in a situation on someone elses behalf. Etc.

We can also ask for ourself.

When we give our lives to God and choose to follow christ, we can ask God for all kinds of things. But we can't command him to obey us. God is always God.

We can even ask God for things or about things as a seeker. God is always there. But he gets the final word.

Ask him for things or about things for yourself if you arn't sure of his power or doubt his goodness. The more we know him, the stronger our faith and the more access we get so to speak for God to move.

God is merciful and kind, but our understanding of that grows as we get to know him and his nature.

Is your brother taking his medication as prescribed ? It's very important that he takes his medication in order to keep his health, mood swings and behaviour under good control.

Unfortunately I would say that justice has been served since he violently attacked and hurt your sister. Lives were at stake here. However he may be convicted of reduced charges and his sentence mitigated due to his mental condition.
