Will the first-born slain sons (via the Angel of Death) be saved according to current Evangelical paradigms on Salvation doctrine?

Is their any scriptural evidence that the babies killed for the purposes of freeing the Hebrews from slavery have a shot at Eternal Life?

From the current perspective it would seem that they would indeed be doomed to hellfire.......

What do you think and WHY?

awww man

does it really matter??? who are we to judge which souls are lost and which will enter into heaven?

I voted yes because I can see no reason for a little child who has commit no sins to be refused salvation. To refuse those children salvation would seem to me like refusing to feed a baby because it couldn't feed itself.

You assume that the first born are little children.... the first born could be 40+ years old.... :-? Which would put that past the age of accountability.
But to answer your question, I believe only God know the answer to that question.

crazymotos,

The reason it matters is because this touches on a more important topic which is the Universal Nature of the Holy Spirit. If it is true that infants are saved without a knowledge of the Risen Lord than we can take this a step further to those that live in the deep rainforest or in the Australian desert... The Gospel has not reached these people just as it has not reached the little children that were brutally murdered by the Angel of Death.

I for one believe that if Salvation is not exclusive to Evangelical paradigms of our time than we can conclude that the Holy Spirit is active in other religons on some level. Grace knows no boundaries in effect.

No one I know would condemn those who live and die never hearing the Good News.

Romans 2
13 For not the hearers of the Law are just with God, but the doers of the Law shall be justified.
14 For when nations not having Law do by nature the things of the Law, they not having Law are a law to themselves,
15 who show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience witnessing with them, and the thoughts between one another accusing or even excusing,...

I do fear for those who do hear the Good news, yet continue to reject it to their death.

Matthew 12
31 Because of this, I say to you, Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven to men, but the blasphemy concerning the Spirit shall not be forgiven to men.
32 And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, not in this age nor in the coming one.

I was forgetting that a first born could be any age, 70 even or older.

I agree with your answer

and with Vic "No one I know would condemn those who live and die never hearing the Good News."

So if ignorance of the Bible and Christianity can guarantee you salvation, it seems logical to remove all scripture and knowledge of Jesus from the world so all can go to heaven.

There is the all or nothing attitude, the black and white attitude and the "there is some gray material somewhere"attitude. Black and white, all or nothing denies half or more of my life and the lives of many others. I certainly would not want to remove all scripture and knowledge of Jesus. Jesus saved my life. When I read the bible, I see the side of Jesus you see and I also see the side of Jesus where He is not black and white, where He goes out of His way to tend to those who are lost and need Him even more that those who already know Him.

Maybe I am out in left field here. I don't know.

Well, I was talking to a Mormon once. She said that if you didn't know the Mormon truth you would go to heaven. However, if you knew the Mormon truths and rejected it, then you would go to hell. (You keep your members in and yet sound open to all.)

So I said that the best thing was for Mormons to quit taking people in so all could go to heaven. She thought that was pretty funny.

But in a sense, that is the problem. If the goal is to make it to heaven, then we need to know the rules. If ignorance of the Bible takes you to heaven, then we do a disservive by education people about the Bible. If children get a free ride to heaven, then we should kill Muslim children so they go to heaven instead of go to hell. Do the retarded or brain damaged get a free ticket to heaven? Do these exceptions make "I am the way, the truth, and the life: No man cometh unto the father, but by me" a lie?

Okay so there is the crunch, Quath..

My goal is not specifically to get to Heaven. I figure that I will be going to Heaven but that is not my reason for anything I do. My reason for what I do is to be the best person that I can, to be as much like Christ as I can. That is my aim. That is my goal. I want to be all that I can be. I want to be all that God created me to be. I dearly love God and I want to be a give back to Him all that He gave me. Getting to Heaven is not my goal. It may end up that I do go to Heaven but it is not specifically what I am working for. And I believe/hope that the majority of people don't specifically do things for the purpose of getting to Heaven. Maybe I have just found my own way, and it works for me.

Scott, there is nothing in the verse that guarntees salvation. Read it again.

Rom 2:15 Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness,...
KJV

Now, what about those who do not show what's written in thier hearts and do not bear witness?

I agree it is not a guarantee, but it is a criteria. If you do not go through Jesus, you do not go to heaven, right? If you do not know Jesus, you can not go through him, right?

So either you can go to heaven without Jesus or not. Which is it?

Nobody stays in Hell anyway in mormonism. If you don't accept their religion you're placed in prison until judgement. Then a couple mormons come to you to preach their word. If you accept you get a higher place in heaven than if you don't accept. It's a second chance type of thing. There is no eternal Hell for any of mankind but only for Satan and His cronies.

I don't claim to know what God will do with those who haven't heard of Christ but I do have some idea about those who have. ;) And I think He may also have something to say to those who claim to know Him but haven't done much to spread His Word in the first place. :o

God was with Adam from the very beginning, God created Adam, and made Himself very well known throughout the early years of mankind. To toss His Word out of hand would also be like casting out creation itself and you and everybody with it. When The Creation goes so does heaven.

Thanks for clearing that up. I heard one Mormon say there was no hell and one that said hell was just for the really bad like Hitler. So i was confused about how they saw hell and the 3 levels of heaven.

Well under the premise that "ignorance is bliss" than yes this is a good answer...

However, some Gnostic sects of Christianity actually believe that the problem is IGNORANCE versus the Evangelical idea of SIN.

That is another interesting poll topic.....

SIN vs IGNORANCE.......
