To say nowt of how all Israeli citizens had to train ready to take up arms in defence of the realm - (aka 'defend the weak' is ALWAYS in context of physical threat/attack in the Bible)

Israel now has @ 5 million Jews

Tho' the @ 10m diaspora will ALL be brought back home, as per the precious promises of God, do ask http://www.jpost.com if they need evangelicals to help defend Israel against Al Q/Iran etc

If the government someday decided to behead all Christians, would be like Peter and deny him or would you still proclaim him, while the axe is shown to you?
I would love to say "yes" I would still proclaim, in fact I can picture myself saying yes, I will proclaim him. Peter said he would lay his life down for Jesus, but Jesus told him, "You will deny me three times". I am sure at the time Peter said he would lay his life down for Jesus he meant it!! But the when the minute came and he was faced with it, he denied Him. I am sure that God wanted him alive to preach after Jesus was raised from the dead. What I am saying is that no one knows until they are actually faced with it what they will do.

Some think and say that is what will happen sometime in the future.

Rev 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Luke 21:16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
Luke 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

But remember the words of Jesus here:

Mat 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

I was only just thinking, on the bus here, praying 4 readers of this thread

I recall MANY more than 1 old lady who, to the casual observer, would be dismissed as 'a frail old dear' etc

But when those 70+.80+..90+ women pray, they are lionesses for the Kingdom of God

I recall my own dear old mum, who lived till 90

She was bent & wizened in body

But totally fearless

She would often approach a group of teen 'punks'..'skinheads'..'Hell's Angels'...'goths'

She always had the most transparent & radiant face & an obviously genuine love for the young that even the hardest, toughest lads would just open their hearts to her gentle wit & wisdom

"You will bear fruit, even in old age"

Your absolutely right of course. I know in my heart that I love God and Jesus more than I fear pain, but there is no way to know it logically.
