I'll admit, Microsoft is better at the gaming. And more people kiss up to Microsoft so there is more versatility regarding applications and programs in that OS. But therein lies the problem. I'll make a simple comparison:

Microsoft is akin to having a candy store with every imaginable candy that a kid could want with free choices. However, when the kid bites into the candy, some have worms. Others carry infections and disease, but he still has to pay for the candy. In fact, he also has to pay for someone to clean the candy and take away the worms and illnesses and whatnot.

Mac and Linux is like a limited candy store. There's only so many to choose from, but Mac has expensive but very tasty candy that the kid can bite into without fear. And Linux has candy that is even free and safe to eat!

Now, which candy store you think most kids would want to go to?

I am not a person who likes being given to and then taken away again. As a matter of fact, Microsoft's virus issue was the SOLE REASON years ago I refused to do online learning and university study because rest assured on the day of the big project or test the computer would get the virus, but I'm the one that has to answer for it and get the "F". I'll gladly take responsibility for my own actions, but that is where I draw the line.

On the other hand, I rather have an OS that does LESS, but is stable and reliable. I don't take kindly to surprises. Nevertheless, Mac and Linux is coming out with some powerful alternatives and similar programs that Microsoft has. For example, it's no longer true that Linux cannot game well, cannot do spread sheets cannot run youtube videos and other accusations I had to bear listening to just a few months ago. For me, I'm happy with surfing the Internet, emails, forums, a few applications, and online music and/or videos. I don't use computers for much else, but these things mac and Linux can easily handle and then some just as well as Microsoft, only without the viruses.
