the he has a problem that he needs to deal with. Christian women should not be expected to wear burkas just because there are some guys who have no self control and/or have a dirty mind.

Well, I have a "dirty mind", but I also have self-control.

Besides...
I don't care HOW a female dresses, I still know she's female. ;)

(And SOMEONE better pass a rule against women putting their hand on their hip/waist like the three in the top picture and the two in the bottom picture - cause THAT is distracting, too. I'll post all the other stuff that should be banned when I get time - my point is, the pants/dress/jeans issue misses the mark badly -it leaves out all sorts of other 'problems'.)

Previous humor of mine aside, I think the gist of Duet 22:5 is that a preson should not be a cross-dresser or any other transgender behavior as we would call it today. The crux of that passage is that a person is not to make themselves look like the opposite sex (with the assumed purpose) to deceive.

It has nothing to do with "pants" being "man's clothes" and therefore women can't wear them. Most women will still go into the woman's department to buy their slacks or jeans and even if they wear the husband's jeans to help him do the outdoor work for example, it's not with the intention of looking like him or becoming him, and as such is not a cross-dresser.

The issue is clearly about one not being happy with what God has made them as a man and a woman were created to become one flesh (i.e. produce an offspring being one human) and marriage was between them. Dressing up to look like a woman and fooling a male date (or vice versa) only to see him have a heart attack when he gets the "woman" home. That, I have to say, is terrible and wrong.

So, let's not all stress out over this issue about pants. There's men's pants and there's women's pants because the body contour is different and thus they are cut to fit the appropriate sex, OK?

I'm certainly not denying that Deuteronomy speaks of abominations... It wouldn't surprise me that if homosexuality is decried as abomination before God, so would transvestism. Both are similiar in that they go exactly opposite of how God made men and women to be.

The only thing that I deny, and I assume that this is what you see a need for "more study" on, is that western feminine attire is no more "male" than eastern feminine attire. As you've shown, the issue isn't skirts or pants... just as a skirt can be masculine attire, so can pants be feminine.

As for this:

I certainly agree that Christian's are to dress modestly, and I also agree that modest dress has been an issue, even within the church lately. Not just Christian women either... those shorts that men wear that come just a bare hairsbreadth above their privates or pants so baggy their underwear show is just as much a violation of modest dress as girls with spaghetti strap tanks and short shorts.

In post 140, Elijah, I've only said what I have been saying for quite some time now... that cross dressing is an abominiation, but the mere fact that a woman would wear pants hardly qualifies as cross dressing and that pants are every bit as feminine attire as the robes of the OT were men's attire.

The post you quote, post 111, is more of a response to statements that you make such as this:

I've known a fair bit of pastor's wives over the years... and I've seen some on TV as well... however, I've never seen a pastors wife who was immodest or worthy of the taunt of "un/dress". Perhaps there are some out there... but I would imagine that they are few and far between and would hazard that there is probably much more than just the way they dress that is amiss in their lives.

What's the problem with India treating women?

• The national ruling party leader is a woman.
• The current president of India is a woman.
• My native state's chief minister is a woman.

There are 3000 castes who never intermarry, has more than 800 languages (not dialects) and 30 official languages with each state has it's own language. It is so huge and has more population than Europe and US combined and the entire Australia lives in a single metro. So, when something happens in one particular community in one particular area, it is immature to blame the entire sub-continent.
