theres deceased, deceased and dead, dead and deceased dead. the later is official.
There have been cases where someone is pronounced dead and they wake up on the slab in the Mortuary.

Was it George Washington that had a fear of being buried alive? Like the case of people being pronounced dead but waking up in the mortuary? I think he requested that a pipe be fitted to his casket that provided a way for air to get in, just in case.
 
Oh no it might be rare but it has happened and it has happened more recently.
if they are young and they don't stare to prep them for burial until the cause of death has been determined first. if they are old then they don't usually do an autopsy. off topic the ONLY truly way to find out if one has alzheimers is to die and then have your brain examined. there is no test for that prior to that event.lol

no that is common for that era. a bell was attached to the casket with a rope to the person, just in case. the three day wake is from that idea as well. ie the jewish thought of waiting three days then burying them.
