Activists love God by standing up for His Truth and righteousness. They worship God by sharing their faith and standing up for what is right.

What is the Activist?

Activists love God by standing up for His Truth and righteousness. They get frustrated at injustice, especially when others are hurt by it. They want to be active, speaking, and especially involved in a cause. The apostle James encouraged all of us to adopt the attitude of Activists when he said, “Be doers of the word, not hearers only, deceiving yourselves” (James 1:22).

Activities You May Enjoy

  • Serve at a food pantry, homeless shelter or pregnancy center.
  • Practice tactful confrontation, focusing on gentleness, love and persuasiveness.
  • Focus on God’s faithfulness, studying Scripture that teaches how He is working when we cannot see it.
  • Adopt an elderly neighbor or child who could use a friend, or open your home to show your kids faith in action.

Grow Your Faith

Although it is helpful to discover the easiest way for you to connect with God, this knowledge shouldn’t stop you from growing your faith in other ways. As an Activist, you worship God through speaking up for what is right. This strength may lead to weaknesses in areas like enthusiasm. It can be difficult to recognize the good work that God has done and is doing if you are constantly focused on what is wrong in the world. So, grow your faith by listening to someone share the good work that God is doing in their life.

Here are some other ways that you can get out of your comfort zone and worship God in a different way:

  • Traditionalists worship God through tradition and ritual. Choose a night of the week to consistently read and meditate on a Psalm.
  • Enthusiasts love God in the midst of joy. Embrace celebration and participate in a worship service.
  • Caregivers connect with God by helping others. Care for people around you by making a meal for someone who needs it.
