Umm,.. I don't have a clue what you're talking about but all I know is that I don't care about all that stuff anyways. All I care about is Jesus and the way He wants me to live my life. Sure there are other Bible stories and stuff that interests me like Noah's Ark, Daniel and The Lion's Den, Moses and The Ten Commandments, but they actually have lessons that I can apply to today and the other stuff I'm just not interested in. All I know and care about is treat other people the way you want to be treated regarded of gender, race, religion etc.
Modern Day isreal and the events are taught that its in the bible.

Im not saying must be like i am but that a precursory introduction

you like movies right, did you know that most movies you post here were lost that go back and only saved by roddy mcodowalls love of movie history and he bought the old movies and they went to his library and copied his movies and digital remastered them based on the sets they know about.

never think that any history is irrevelant. I hated the arts , as it is well droll to me. that has changed.i see the influence here they paint murals of things that went on here, old grove signs, murals of other things. I have plans to photo a few. the fact that jim crow laws were, it should help . yes I am not suggesting that but people presume things based on sterotypes and one should know where the sterotype came from and how to debunk that

all Mexicans, etc are dark, they don't like country music.

not true to both. I work with a Mexican who isn't insulted by being called a florida cracker. he hunts, rides a 4 wheeler, fishes and also kills gators for food. he is fluent in both languages as his dad made him to be. yet he is very old Florida

a florida cracker here is meant to be an insult and yet its really not in origin, the idea of one is that its the florida version of a redneck. they rode Spanish horses, drove the cattle from tampa to ft.pierce and elsewhere and lived on ranch homes called florida cracker homes. they used a whip. a cracker is a the word used from the sound of the whip which cracked when the used the whip. its not a pejorative.

just like when you in your liberal school indoctrination used the idea of nigger never being used by white people. I had to check that. as I use it and get called that by blacks all the time that know me. they call themselves that and I know the context of when and how and that is from knowing the words usage and yes it can be an insult and was mostly.in the context I use it, its Never an insult.

I hated sports, still do. I hated music classes. yet both were forced upon me.school isn't there to teach the subjects we like but should teach it all to help us find what we are good at and to force us to know that area that we may hate but at least try to respect it.

I find most sports boring, I hate the money that is involved.personal opinion. yet pe at least gave me insight into how each sport worked so that when I do talk about it. I know something. i also, ironically, later on would work for a base ball spring training camp.

btw.
it is the Mexicans along with the irish that gave us country/western. johnny cash, I can here the mariachi music in him.

he used mariachi style in that song.

Grrr,... I have said time and time again that I never said that all history is irrelevant! :wall
I have learned that even the most irrevelant part of history isn't so.

I cant find much interest in the hippie movement in the 60's. I know it but it bores me.

that is often the shows era you like. I know of it as my parents are from that time. I grew up on that.

I should take you to task on all hallows eve and the origins of that holiday, all saints day and the day of the dead, both to remember the martyred saints. nothing pagan in it, unlike the saim hain and the roman holiday of the time and that we often include it and ignore the other.

All Hallows Eve would actually be interesting to me and I do believe that you're talking about I Dream of Jeannie. I would have to go look it up but I think it was around the sixties time frame. I also like that style of music. :)

I like that song. Johnny Cash is a really good singer.

60s music is diverse.

Rock,soul,country,subset
Of rock new wave.
The doors used that as did I think the monkeys

By the way, what does apologetics (bringing somebody to Jesus) have anything to do with history except for the fact that it's history that Jesus lived and died for us?

Uhm

Who is Horus, and why did Paul understand greek myths and tell them that unknown God is the God ?he mentions.
Paul was taught greek mythology in yeshiva ,all pharisees had to know it.

So you wouldn't want to learn about muslim believes so that you can refute them ,or cherokee, yes the cherokee do have them. Or the jw,see these all do have a historical reference

The idea of faith having no inpact,or historicity is not in the bible.

You hate the toe,yet that is not going to teach nor support the idea of a world wide flood.you might need evidence other then Genesis 6,7 that it happened.it's there but you will have to look outside of the bible.

If they stay in school, they might have an easier time getting a job. Not that what they learn in school will be all that helpful on the job, but employers like to hire people who can follow the rules. Whether they agree with the rules or not. Many employers use a high school or college diploma as an indication that someone will follow the employer's rules.

But yes, I still enjoy science even though I'm a Christian, I think that it's neat.

The thing about learning ToE (theory of evolution) is not that it is correct, but that you learn to structure your thoughts. It's great for that. And as you get into more advanced classes, they become more honest about how much isn't known at all, and how little scientists actually agree with one another

I have to admit, that's a good point there.

Another good point. One thing that I love about the Word of God is that it never changes. :cross

How is understanding the revolutionary war, or remembering who all the presidents were necessary in life?

To participate in the Nation by voting, one really needs to have some sense of how we were formed, and why. The Revolutionary War isn't enough, but it's a start.

Rote memorization (like all the Presidents) I'm not a fan of.

Can't we all just agree to disagree? After all, what's so bad about the fact that I'm not a major history buff? We all have our different tastes.

I used to go to school just to socialize. (Girls, lol)
I almost never did the assignments, but would take the tests, and pass them...so my teachers hated it but had to pass me. Oh I was a rebellious one, lol.

Me too! I'd show up for the test, ace it, and not be back till the next. I was so bored at school, I'd usually work instead.

Agreeing or disagreeing has nothing to do with it, I hated school as much as anybody. Especially history.

A general education (HS diploma) isn't about learning specific things that will actually help you in life, it's about being a well rounded person that has some basis for success no matter what you do. For example, I never even registered to vote until I was about 5 years older than you, and only did so because the Country was in a crisis. The point being you have no idea WHAT you might wind up doing.

I assume you are speaking of voting. Anyways maybe I will someday but I watch the news. And again, I repeat, I'm not saying that I'm bored by all history. I read the Bible and I really like dinosaurs. I'm just more of a natural history person than an American history person but even some of that interests me.

The other stuff will get interesting to you eventually, lol. But you're in a good place with a good plan. You're lucky too, you have yet to have children so you'll be able to be their spiritual leader like (we all) you should. I failed miserably in this. I did ok from a (worldly) perspective, but a total washout and I can't go do a do over. You're young! Kids still in the future! And already walking with Christ...

I thought keeping the peace was more important than teaching the kids about the Lord, walking with honor, helping people. Geez, my dad did better at being the spiritual leader of the home, and it was short lived. I could bang my head against the wall for failing at that. :wall

Oh well. But the last 9 or 10 years I've planted plenty of seeds into at least one of my son's. The younger one a little bit too, so...they're in the Lord's hands now, lol. Since He made me move to Ohio. I've even wondered if the Lord sent me here, just to get me out of His way from doing something with my son's Himself...and so I wouldn't be in the way? Maybe. Don't do what I did, Sister! Teach those kids to pray young! Teach them that they have authority in Jesus name...over the monster in the closet if/when that happens...! Yes!!

I hear ya Brother. I always loved to read, so many times I'd read their textbook some, laugh at it some too, lol. I remember when they was teaching that we was an amoeba which crawled up on the beach out of a mud puddle (lol) that we didn't even believe that then. The standing joke for awhile was, hey there's your mom! When walking by a mud puddle...

I'm so glad it's the weekend! Long hot week.
