Telling others they should forgive is disrespectful in my opinion.
It often comes from a place of condescension and holier than thou arrogance.
"Look how forgiving I am. You should follow my great example." But if the scrutiny was really on them, we might discover hypocrisy.
It's none of our business. Be careful with language. Rephrasing is more helpful..
" So you find it hard to forgive Mr X"

My ex-mother-in-law went to church every Sunday and was the first to condemn and the LAST to forgive. She was/is a wonderful Christian woman, until it's time to apply the teachings of Christ to her own life. Sometimes, Christianity is for the people and NOT the Christian.
