You Took My Parking Space at Church
This should wake us up.


One day, a man went to visit a church, He got there early, parked his car and got out. Another car pulled up near the driver got out and said, " I always park there! You took my place!" The visitor went inside for Sabbath School, found an empty seat and sat down. A young lady from the church approached him and stated, "That's my seat! You took my place!" The visitor was somewhat distressed by this rude welcome, but said nothing.

After Sabbath School, the visitor went into the sanctuary and sat down. Another member walked up to him and said, " That's where I always sit! You took my place!" The visitor was even more troubled by this treatment, but still He said nothing. Later as the congregation was praying for Christ to dwell among them, the visitor stood up, and his appearance began to change. Horrible scars became visible on his hands and on his sandaled feet. Someone from the congregation noticed him and called out, "What happened to you?" The visitor replied, as his hat became a crown of thorns, and a tear fell from his eye, "I took your place."

When you receive this, say a prayer. That's all you have to do. This is powerful. Maybe, just maybe, we can get the world to start thinking of who took our place.
 
"I took your place."

That really boils down the Gospel message even farther than John 3:16. There is One that is worthy and willing to do what we cannot.

Rev 5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
Rev 5:3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
Rev 5:4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

I lift this quote out of the story, because it is so familar in many puplic prayer times. What is the sense of praying such a prayer? Has Jesus not already said that " Where the two or three are gathered together in my name there am I in the midst of them" Matt. 18;20. Why then ask again? Do they not believe His word? This type of praying denotes "no faith" It actually nullifies the promise of His presence.

This story has been well circulated over the last few years but still provides a good reminder that we as the people of God are to be more than just regular faces in a pew.

AMEN! So sad but so true...Dry eyed Christians in a Hell bound world.
