Has your position changed on any issue since joining this forum? Was there a specific verse or discussion that exposed your error? Did you have the courage to admit you were wrong?

I thought it would be edifying to discuss how God has worked in your life on this forum in regards to He bringing us into Truth and leaving falsehood and error in the dust.
 
Do we have to look at our positions in that light? That either YOU are right, or I am?

This, I think, is one of the few unattractive things about what we have made Christianity, that we have made it an "Us against Them" dogma in so many cases.

In another forum before I came to this one I used to think any and all Sabbath and Festival observance was wrong. But when it was shown to me from the scriptures that what is wrong about it is doing that for the purpose of earning salvation, and that Paul kept the law, I changed my theology.

Also, I was pretty much on the side of OSAS when I came to this forum. But some pointed scriptures shared by folks like Butch forced me to be honest and see that believers can stop believing in Christ and be lost. I knew those scriptures, but I glossed right over them because I had been indoctrinated to believe they meant something else than what they plainly said.

I am surprised you took the thread name in that way. I thought it was a catchy thread name. :shrug

This has nothing to do with an "us" vs "them", it's a sincere thread and a person should not try to make it out to be something it's not. I'm seeking out answers to my questions.

But, it brings up something else..
I have noticed (and with myself, too) that even though we sometimes feel bad, or even ashamed, of some of the things we KNEW to be truth at one time, and fought, tooth and nail, to defend that view........ we NOW go just as hog wild over declaring that this new way we may now see certain things is the ONLY way.

Everyone was wrong if they did not believe as we did back then.
And everyone is STILL wrong if they do not believe as we do now.

And God is probably looking at all of us, wondering if any of us will ever understand ANYTHING.

Do you you celebrate all the Festivals?
I think it's pretty cool when people do, it's a great history lesson and would think it would increase our understanding of the OT. It seems the Festivals return in the new heaven, maybe I'm wrong about that?!?

"Do not say, 'I have found THE truth'. Rather, say, 'I have found A truth' "

Yes, Jesus is THE truth, but that fact does not mean that WE have taken hold of all that He is.

Willie - share - what has God shown you here? What have you learned? Please share YOUR experience here of how God has shown you more and more of His Truth while being on this forum? What has He taught you while here?
 
Well, it may not be so much from teachings, but from observations.... both positive and negative.
One thing I have learned is that I had way too much animosity (a soft way of saying, "hatred") for Muslims, Mormons, JW's, etc.
I think this forum (and other forums, too) has been a mirror for me to see myself more clearly.

Well, let's just take the term, "grace". Do I know how to extend it?
I often read things, here, that inform me that I am not as "right" as I'd like to think I am. But, related to that, I read many posts that also show me that many people are not as "wrong" as I may want them to be.

And I am still working on being able to express that with kindness.
