you will stand before God and give an account of your life....

For us believers who are saved it sounds to me more like a life review geared towards learning even more lessons from those situations in our life.

If you have ever felt the presence of the Lord you will already be aware of what our real reward in Heaven will be. To dwell in the presence of God.

Our works are said to be tried in the fire. So God will take all of the good deeds that you ever did and pile them on the fire to test them. Some works may be burnt up, others that last until the end will remain(and become a beautiful sweet fruit unto God).

Somebody once asked if since scripture says we should pay proper restitution for our bad deeds to others, so I did something bad to a guy when I was young, and I can't find him to make restitution, so what do I do? I can't do it.

Easy, ask forgiveness for doing it in the first place and ask a Blessing over the persons life and all that is theirs. And...

Just like Jesus said 100 times, Go out and love people. Love your neighbor like you do me. Do good deeds for people more and more. One good deed made with the intent of Brotherly Love is received so well in Heaven that the one pure deed cancels out a lot of the bad deeds that you did.

Will we finish our life on earth with more good deeds or bad deeds on the final tally? I never thought about that much, but, I sure do want my tally of good deeds to be the greater portion on this day.

And doing good deeds on purpose just because you Love the Lord and so you want to obey him...that's done out of Love so Love is much more powerful than bad deeds and counts for many more than the bad deeds. So even if you wer seriously evil when you were young it can't take very long to tip the scales back to good side if you start doing good deeds for people. You see someone broke down? Stop and try to help. Why not shovel the snow from the driveway of that little old widow lady who lives across the street from you? Is the young lady short paying the cashier in front of you at the supermarket? Offer to pay it.

That would not matter if you even took that money out of your rent money, because you can not out give God. SO when God sees you helping people with a love intention and no hidden motives (those "good works" that are done with an improer motive will be burned up!) But when the giving and help is given in Love alone...You will get earthly Blessings and Heavenly Blessings.

Or so I have heard!

Yes God will judge us.

What matters is whether our names are written in the Lamb's book of life.
Are we Christian.

If all that matters to a man is that he himself is going to Heaven, then he will appear before that Judgement Seat poor, blind and naked having lived solely for himself and his well being. He will hear no word of praise and the whole of his life will have been wood, hay and stubble.

No I wrote, What matters, not all that matters.

Given that Jesus said the first will be last and his praise of the widows mites offering, there is a good chance that we will be surprised by heavens awarding of ' well done.'

The Bible says what matters is to obey the living God, not that we are going to Heaven. And I am pretty sure that no one will be surprised to hear "well done" as obeying Him is such a challenge that no one does it by accident. When Paul was about to depart the body to be with the Lord, he KNEW that he had finished his course and a "well done" was awaiting him. Obeying God requires a choice of the will. It is not done by accident unless one has been consciously obeying God as a lifetime choice over some decades. Those who think they operate from a sin nature ought to realize that that nature they insist they have, does not submit to God's will by accident.
