Work this one out...
Written by King Solomon, son of King David. Ecclesiastes1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Zion (Mt. Moriah) holds a very real, worldly significance.
Scripture tells us that David reclaimed Zion from the Jebusites. 2 Samuel 5:6-7 which is the first time national Israel had possession of the Land as promised to Abraham. Gen 22:17. This was the first time world peace actually occurs (1 Chronicles 16:30)
What we find about Zion, is that Solomon is able to build a Temple for the Lord there. The place within Jerusalem where the Temple is built is Mt. Moriah. 2 Chronicles 3:1
What is interesting, is that it was on Mt. Moriah (Zion) where Abraham offered his Son Isaac... Genesis 22:2 Are we starting to see the spiritual significance to Zion yet? But wait, there's more.
Ironically, Abraham had already been in that land prior when he met, and gave tithes to Melchizedek, king of Salem (Jerusalem) (Genesis 14:18) and yes, the Jews still to this day believe that it was on Mt. Moriah where God formed Adam. Gen 2:7.
Zion. Oh Holy Zion!
