actually, I said by implication I could twist words as those churches do, I know where they do it. I have debating that stuff to know how they do it with the chapters. and you denied that those are in fact teaching heresy. if by 90% of mainline are ok then what is exactly are the Lutherans. presybters and others that have addressed and marry gays and approve it? there are off shoots of Lutherans. there is deception in the church.

you are merely defending a man who is weak teacher even if he is saved. I cant say if he has in depth bible studies. he may or may not but the pastor should lead and be hard when needed and gentile when not needed. osteen cant do that. free made that case already. it like this if I did just listen to ccm I wouldn't have much of any solid faith . those songs have mostly blah substance. I cant post the myriad of bad lyrics

and I also have been told by the pro gay right churches that the ancient church twisted the words to make it say something they don't say on gays. you didn't exclude that in this post.

besides. most pastors know that that have been to a good seminary.
Gordon-Cornwell has a great reputation as a seminary.
Pastors proudly display their degrees from this seminary.
When I was there in 1996-97, they had students with purple hair and a huge drug bust!

I'm sorry if I've misled anyone.
I was not a student there, I was a service worker.

I think Osteen has his purpose. Oprah is similar. They teach and discuss issues with on going American Culture. All of it is to deal with minds and souls. The make it better and feel better type of people.

So you think that Osteen and Oprah have a purpose and they are ok for a Christian to watch and listen to?

1) What does this teacher say about Jesus?
2)Does this teacher preach the Gospel?
3)Does this teacher exhibit the characters and quality that glorify the Lord? Matthew 7:15-20
Yes, but it takes many advisers to win a war. We need several types of teachers, preachers, evangelist to become perfected and balanced. It is like eating Chicken. You eat the meat and throw away the bones. If you study the Bible enough, know-one will mislead you. Know-one can pluck you from the Father's hand.

Why types of teacher would that be?

Jesus warned us that"false Christs and, false prophets" will come and will attempt to deceive even God's elect Matthew 24:23-27;2 Peter 3:3;Jude 17-18.

Thanks for posting these.
2Pe 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
2Pe 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

So these are not teachers (although a teacher could teach this) that the Lord is not coming back.

Jud 1:16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

I think this is talking about people who use others to their own benefit, to fulfill their desires, which could be anything, pride, fame, money, prestige, etc.. That's what I think some teachers do, as well as regular people. Get chummy with the rich guy just so you'll be invited to join the country club.

Jud 1:18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

Jud 1:19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

I think this is saying that they mock the Christian faith or Jesus specifically because they are carnal even to the point of it be sexually perverted. I had to look at the Greek definitions for sensual. But I think overall we could say even like the one thief on the cross who mocked Jesus.

Mat 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

False Christs, there were guys after Jesus that claimed to be Him and even today, David Koresh comes to mind, he claimed to be Jesus.
False prophets, so in that day it would have been those who were sorcerers (there were Jewish and Gentile), and they did magic to imitate what Jesus and the disciples were doing. In the OT, Moses cast down his rod and it turned into a viper and Pharaoh did the same and his rod turned into 2 vipers but Moses' swallowed them both up.
I do think these types of things can happen today. Weird stuff - Toronto Blessing - run.

Good scriptures Kathi, thanks. Please share what you think about my thoughts and add your own. :)

They are also the ones who are not preaching the true word of God.
