Plenty of snakes over here too. I even used to catch them on my fishing line when fishing in the salt water in Queensland when I lived there for a couple of years. Sea snakes, would see them washed up on the beaches after a storm too. A good friend of mine from there was killed just a couple of months ago by one of our Taipan's, highly venomous. Killed him within a minute they reckon. Must have hit a major artery or vein. A great Christian man too, one of the nicest you could meet. At least I know ill see him again though.

I feel like being a real wet blanket and be real geek on this fine Saturday cold morning in South Africa. In my country if you want to sell or buy a house you have to have it certified that it is termite free before a bond is approved .I dont for any moment argue with that .In their defence though, they represent a perfect example of strict discipline as God intented his Creation to be.We see Proverbs 6:6 refering to the ant, although the ant and the termite are unrelated from what I have read .

According to book by a Doctor Eugene Marais in Afrikaans"Siel van Die Mier" meaning "Soul of the Ant" written in the 1940's about how he researched Termites over a long period and found a very close relationship between the Human Body, and it's mechanics almost identical to that of the working prosess, of the daily activities of Termites in the Mound.

I. They only work fron the inside outward making or repairing the mound skin like Humans. You dont find tremites outside the mound .The mound stretches as it grows like aninimal skin.

2. Worker Termites react to strict commands from the Oueen.Removal of the queen renders chaos and all functions cease.Think of a human body and the Church as the Body of Christ 1Cor 12:12, "Servants" Mt 20:26.

3.Worker termites are grouped in strict funtional groups Repair and Defence the same as red and white blood corpuscles in human and animal kingdom.

4. The Queen in order to lay 50,000 eggs per day is fed on the same chemical digestive compounds as the human body stomach digestive system.

5.They have the ability to combine Oxygen and hydrogen in the manufacture of water in the most extreme arid conditions.

6. They discovered how to build the Arch long before Man could even fathom I+1=2.They have an impecible ventilation system studied by architects today.

7.I realise this bordes the Science Thread but to me it only demonstrates the awsome Power of God and that only understand how and why things work the way they do as He sees fit and to be revealed in Revalation 22 :19 regarding the "tree of life" and "knowledge" as I understand the Garden Of Eden Gen 2:17.

Here is a peek how a Termite Administration Operates.

black on yellow will kill a fellow

Yeah, just stay away. It's all about the RED and what it touches.

"Red on yellow, kill a fellow; Red on black, friend of Jack" (or "friendly jack"); ...

Given my understanding is true, both the King and the Milk snakes are in the family "Lampropeltis Elapsoides" and are non-poisonous.

Mnemonic said:
"If red touches black, you're OK Jack (alternatively: venom lack); if red touches yellow, you're a dead fellow." However, a far more easily remembered mnemonic is: "Red and black, friend of Jack; Red and yellow, kill a fellow."

I opened up a water meter lid a few weeks and had a milk snake scare me. it ran rather then strike.

That's amazing stuff Tony about the termites. Sure does show God's handy work with such simple little creatures being so organised and such, well, intelligent programming from the Creator!
Amazing stuff indeed!

"Nature" is for the torment of man...it became so after the Fall...yes it's still pretty and organized but would kill us all if left to it's self...I thank God I live in a time when it's many miseries are kept at a distance.

Insects provide nutrient and sustenance to many wildlife species and are in general beneficial to our environment. Obvious bees and spiders provide healthy interactions within the kingdom of nature. Everything from pollination to trapping other insects to eat and eliminating them from over production.

I used to have a spider-phobia; not anymore after residing in a house rampant with them, now I look at them and find them miraculous for the innate ingenuity with webbing and how they can see with so many eyes...it must be really strange after only using two eyes too imagine having vision with multi-facet many ocular organs....wow! A lot of insects act as cleaner of the soil, the plants and even refuse like flies. I know most of us loathe flies, but they are beneficial by digesting decaying matter or providing sustenance for frogs, etc. Just the idea that the father in heaven created insects is astounding and magnificent.

Personally I try to avoid harming any creature...even going so far as to help box elder beetles and other bugs from certain doom when they enter my abode and offer to transport them back outside. Whenever I confront others about this procedure they are immediately resistant and usually I have to interject by removal of the insect or they squash em....it's sad because it aint there fault they are just travelers and unknowingly step into our living environment. It ain't like they are trained, told, or aware that a building is off limits and restricted. "They don't know the difference."

I always feel bad about having to eliminate any dwellers in my dwellings, but sometimes this is inevitable....although usually you can prevent this 8 times out of 10 when you remove attractants from your home. things that bring the attention of certain insects. If there are no sources of attractants then usually you won't have a problem. Keeping a clean house, free from debris, refuse, or excess food particles is one method. In the case of termites; well, what are ya gonna do...they digest wood, so obviously that is natural for them and ya can't blame em if they find your wood buildings appetizing.

Being aware and caring about our environment includes the wildlife as well and we should all be thankful for it's bounty and beneficial support system.

Praise be to GOD the heavenly father and his son lord JESUS CHRIST forever>>>>>>>>>

Where I live we have a big spider which is common, called the Huntsman. It's legs spread out would go from one side of the palm of your hand to the other. But they are a spider I never kill, they hunt other spiders and don't make webs. Natural pest control.

Sparrowhawke That's hilarious, haha. little ant. quick somebody catch it!!

Of cause the female black widow spider dose not mess around with the problems of divorce and child support .She simply removes the problem from the outset and kindly devours the said "husband" from the outset; after the reproduction process.I suppose thats natures way of an up front security payment making sure that the kids will be fed regardless of any well intended promises and commitments prior to the joys of copulation.

What do you guys know about recluse spiders.

they are call brown recluse and the other a black recluse. the former is native to florida and can cause some issues with the elderly. where they bite they case tissue necrosis. a friend of mine couldn't walk for two years from just two bites. one on each foot. she was later disabled do to that.

My State has all sorts of venomous insects (including both colors of recluses & the black widow spider) & snakes.

But we also have something even more poisonous, and it's something that's been spreading into many areas of the US:

Chicago Politicians.

I know.... scawwy!

(But this is also the State that has more former governors in prison, so I guess it's an almost an even trade off)

I've seen some black widows around my house. There was one in the mail box once. I kill them and any other poisonous spiders on sight.

If I didn't dispose of the crickets that sometimes come into my bathroom, I'd probably be overrun with them. I leave bugs alone when outside but I kill them in my house. Unless my dog is around, then I point them out to her and she eats them. She won't eat stinkbugs though, those I flush. If I didn't flush the stinkbugs, they'd infest everything.
